President's Day

Stayed in bed until 7:30 this morning. Here's hoping it makes a difference in my fatigue level as the day progresses.  Brought my laptop out to the kitchen table for a while and am listening to Sequim's radio station - KSQM.  Sue and I toured their studio yesterday.  Very interesting.  Especially their vast vinyl collection (which they don't use). Even have a storage unit that includes more donations from viewers.

The lady conducting our tour gave some suggestions on how we can pick up their station easier. Something to do with their tower being obstructed by the mountains or metal buildings.  I can get it easily using my Roku device and on my computer but I'd like to get it by my bed at night too.  I used to but for some reason, it won't come in now. I'm going to try again.

The tour guide told us that Patty Duke had been to the studio in the past and did a short interview on air. Wish I could have seen her.  I've always liked Patty Duke.  When we left there, we browsed Serenity House Thrift Store next door.  Really nice place and the prices seemed okay too.  I bought a nice sized Tupperware container and this doll....
Since I had my camera with me, I took a picture of a statue outside the radio station and another of the grain tower nearby.

From there we hit Costco so I could use this gift card Mary had given me for Christmas. I do love shopping with a gift card.  After that we drove through Burger King.  We were going to get hot dogs at Costco but the line was too long.

Downton Abbey was good, as usual, last night.  I wonder if the butler who can't find a job is going to get to stay on since that other guy is gonna be a teacher.  They're supposed to wrap up all loose ends this season so I guess we'll find out soon enough.  I watched an episode of Billions and Sleeper Cell on Showtime before Downton came on but think I'm gonna pass on continuing with Sleeper.  Too gruesome sometimes and the plots seemed contrived.  Billions is hard to follow because I don't understand the terms of banking and finance as they're discussed but I'll stick with it because I love the actors involved.

The Grammys are playing tonight. Starts at 5 (live) and repeats at 8:30.  I'll watch the earlier version and will have my mute button ready for a lot of it. Ha!

Sure is a gray and cloudy day.  Perfect for settling in at the sewing machine. Finished an audio book yesterday so I'll start a fresh one this morning.  Think I'll work on my jigsaw during the Grammys.

Sitting here with my second cup of coffee looking at the pathetic mossy lawn.
I guess the soil in this neighborhood is just plain poor.  I've planted three trees since I moved in and while they're all growing, I do worry that this one is okay.
Perhaps the bark is supposed to look like that in winter time?  Maybe it's the type of tree it is.  Which I can't recall now.  The plum tree  to the left of it looks better and the tree I moved from my Sequim house looks okay too (the one pictured below)
I wish I had three more trees.  It would help detract from the ugly grass. Hard to believe that my lawn looked like this a few  years ago.....
                                                           What the hell happened?!

Well, time to go.  Gotta look up some words on google that keep coming up in my crossword puzzles. I never know what or who they are and I need to fix that!
