Friday

If I had any sense, I'd head for the recliner and try to take a nap. Only problem is, I'm expecting Sue to drop in and I can't sleep if I think someone is going to knock on my door.  Spent my morning just doing odd jobs around the house.  Decided I didn't like the layout of my sewing room (again) so I switched the table back to another corner of the room that I think makes it more approachable and usable.  Also decided to hang up various sewing projects on the wall until I need a gift.  Found a neat old calendar with cars and trucks on it that I wanted to save so up they went too.

I appliqued four Sunbonnet Sues yesterday and I may fix up a few more to make enough for a blanket.  These squares are 11x13 (I think) so I wouldn't have to make that many.
One of these days I'm going to take this button board apart and see if I can't make some kind of picture with them.  Going to look on Pinterest to get some ideas.

Decided I also wanted a little change on my bedroom wall so I hung a large mirror and a picture of me and my siblings -- although you can't really see the mirror in this picture.

I did manage to get a load of laundry washed and put away so I guess that's something.  Dinner is leftovers so I'm pretty much gonna loaf my day away.  Posted on my Town Kid blog yesterday.
Tomorrow I'll head into Port Townsend for a funeral and will make a couple of visiting stops.  Probably before the funeral as I'll want to attend the gathering after to take photos.

Sunday I'm meeting Mary Norton, Yvonne Starkey, and Peggy Norcutt at the grange hall in Sequim for a Mexican breakfast.  Looking forward to that as I haven't had a chance to visit with those ladies in quite a while.  Sunday night is the final episode of Downton Abbey. Sure am gonna miss that show.  I started watching Ray Donovan on Amazon Prime last night and I think I'll stick with it for a while.

Noticed a listing on MSN of all the shows that have been renewed or cancelled. Amazing how many I've never even heard of. And some looked pretty darn good!

I watched the republican debate last night. Gave me a headache!  I'm voting for Hillary but I still look over the republicans  just to see if there's someone substantial worth listening to.  The only one I still like is Ohio governor, John Kasich. And he is definitely heads above the rest.  I "kind of" liked Chris Christie off and on but that changed once he supported Trump.  Last night I "kind of" liked Marco Rubio but that changed once he declared he would vote Trump if he was the nominee.  This after tearing him down vigorously. Tearing him down was the only thing that made me like him a little.  To then state he'd FOLLOW THE PARTY'S CHOICE, I thought no way Jose!  Ever.  Obviously in it for the sake of politics and has no morals.  Like Trump, he's a chump!  And Ted Kruz....well, I've had a bad taste in my mouth the VERY FIRST TIME I saw him and listened to him.  Immediately, I thought NO SUBSTANCE and phony, phony, phony!  All the other republican hopefuls didn't appeal to me much.

Here are two facebook cartoons I saw today that I intend to keep in my "save file."

Am listening to a really good book right now by Anne Tyler called A Blue Spool of Thread. I think I'm going to have to search out more books by her as I'm really identifying with this one.

And with that, I'm off.....
