Sleep is Precious

Yesterday was spent cussing out Mama Nature.  Damn wind!  Lost power for over 2-1/2 hours but I needed a nap so that took up some of it.  Then I worked on my Bob Dylan jigsaw puzzle and fixed dinner.  A Spam sandwich and some Girl Scout cookies. That did the trick.  And yeah, I've been eating Spam my entire life and I like it.

When the power came back, the TV and Internet didn't join in.  As the evening progressed, that also returned BUT the Smart TV was wacky.  Wouldn't pick up any channels.  I was dismayed because I had spent a bit of time the day before reprogramming my channel folders so I knew just where everything was.  I turned it off and went to bed to watch TV in there. I have roku on that set so I was able to tune in to Ray Donovan.  I did watch another episode of House of Cards but was so annoyed at the evil President and first lady that I decided I was giving them only ONE more chance to improve and then I was dumping the show off my watch list.  I don't mind evil characters but they have to hold my interest better than these two have been doing.

At any rate, I haven't turned on my living room set yet today. Too afraid.  My hope is that it's all back to where it belongs but if it isn't, I have to sit down and study how to retrieve.  Can't do that until I've had coffee and am awake.

I hope to finish up my Sunbonnet Sue quilt today.  And then I'll start something new with the patterns I enlarged using the library copier.  Anxious to get going on my pictures too but there's time for it all.

After turning off the TV last night, I was having a hard time dropping off to sleep because my body was too achy.  Nothing new there.  Finally, at 3:30 a.m.,  I decided I'd  had enough and staggered into this room where the  memory foam is.  Slept for three hours until the neighbor's truck woke me up.  He wakes me up every single solitary morning at 6:30.  Big rig with a man's man motor. During the wind storm, this guy's son (or maybe his step-son; I haven't quite figured out the arrangement over there yet) had his trampoline in the back yard  almost sent to my back yard.  I was napping and heard all this yelling. Peeked out the window to see them all dragging it over to the other side of their house and tying it down ....or something?  My only damage, and it wasn't even that, was having a piece of driftwood on my garbage can lid blown off onto the deck.  I use it to keep the wind from tossing my bin around. Looks like I might have to hunt around for a bigger piece.

Well, gotta go load the dishwasher and get to work on that quilt. Here's a FB cartoon I saved this morning.

An hour later:  Sat down with the remote and clicked it on praying my channels would be there. Nope! All gone!  But..... I fixed it.  Reprogrammed and put all my channels in their proper folder.  Gonna be just my luck to final conquer all these dang techy gadgets and then I'll die.  ha ha
Just kidding.  (I think)
