Sunday

Ran into Sequim early this  morning to hook up with former co-workers at the mill. Had a Mexican breakfast at the grange hall where they were raising money for  an organization that two of the friends are active in.
Joyce, Peggy Norcutt, Yvonne Starkey, Mary Norton

From there I drove to the Sequim Goodwill as my sister-in-law had told me they had a good section of material to choose from. I spent $11 and got five sheets that were a combo of cotton and polyester but cotton was the higher number and I can use it for quilt tops as well as the backing.  Then I made a quick Walmart stop to get half a dozen items I needed and my last stop was at Walgreen's in Port Angeles to pick up some reprints.

Mail lady delivered a paperback book I had ordered on Amazon.  They deliver on Sundays now.  This was a movie a friend of mine wanted to see but was having a hard time finding. I saw the book available at the library but it had 48 holds on it so I decided to pick up my own copy. The movie stars Maggie Smith from Downton Abbey and I just love her!
Looking forward to Downton Abbey tonight.  Two hour finale and it should be a doozie!

Stopped to visit my brother and his wife, Lill, yesterday and took a few pictures of her quilting projects.  She's got a longarm quilt machine and her own little house outside their house for all her sewing.  Here's some of the pictures I took.

Lill found these four quilt squares at Goodwill (I think) and decided to put them together for a lap quilt. Presented it to Susan for a belated birthday gift.

Was surprised to see the beard my brother is growing as it's very similar to the one our cousin, Jimmy, is growing.

These two grew up next door to each other. Their fathers are twins but they're two years apart in age.

Attended the funeral for Teresa Maloney at the Catholic Church. I missed getting a picture of several people I wanted to, but here are some....

Dan, Mike, Brian McConaghy, 3 of her 5 sons
Classmates of Teresa, Carol Plaster, Barbara Blowers
                                                   Sister-in-law Jackie Pearce
Cousin Rita Beebe (who read the rosary)
Tyler & Amber Johnson's sons were the altar boys
                                                            Pretty view of the church
Graveside services at the Catholic Cemetery on San Juan Avenue

Here are some other pics I took (mainly in my old neighborhood)
Haines Street Cabins (or Partee Cabins as they were known when I was a kid)
Sullivan's old house on Haines Street
Another view of the Sullivan house
The alley view of my old childhood home (the brown house)

the alley view from the other side a few years ago (22nd Street)

A new medical building going up on Sheridan right next to the hospital and down the street from Manresa Castle

My aunt and uncle's house from several years ago and how it looks now. It's empty and I wish I had the money to buy it.  You can hardly see it from across the street.

Well, I just got off the phone with my cousin Linda (who lived in the house above) so I think I'll wrap this up.
