Sitting here watching Wheel of Fortune with the sound muted. The tv in this room has words below that appear when you mute so I can concentrate on writing but still kind of follow what's going on. Can't think of that word I mean. Anyhow, I've watched Wheel for several years and think Pat Sajak is cute (and funny). Love his suits too. It was a never miss show for a long time but as I started to get involved in certain Netflix or Showtime or Amazon series shows, I'd find I didn't want to leave to watch. I would often, however, scoot over there when I knew the final round was coming as I have an entry in the $5000 drawing they have each night. Long shot that my number will ever be called but you never know.
Am reading four books right now but am thinking I might give up on Rabbit Run by John Updike. Too much description when I'm in the mood for dialog and action. Am reading Dad buy William Wharton and finding it interesting and easy reading. About a guy who returns home after his mom has a heart attack and his dad gets dementia. Sad situation but one many people have to deal with at times.
My favorite is a biography on Raymond Carver by Carol Sklenicka. Our library has a room named after Carver, who lived here for a time and died in Port Angeles. I haven't actually read any of his work yet but I did read a biography his first wife wrote about him. This book is more detailed and very well written. Has some history on his folks and grandparents about where they traveled and how they worked. Made me think of my own family history from what I've studied on various relatives.
I see the rain is coming down pretty hard right now. I was going to get out and go walking but was having a "let's clean out Joyce day" (if you get my drift). I made a dozen bran muffins but then spent so much time trotting back and forth to the bathroom, I decided I didn't really need that many muffins in the house so I have half to Jenni and Wayne. Course Jen always tells me I need to freeze my left overs but I forget. Just not one of the things I'm used to doing. I should work on that.
I finished my Sunbonnet Sue quilt and then washed it along with the last quilt I made. Wanted to see if they'd hold up in the wash and they did. Vacuumed the house and decided the sewing room needed tidying up too. So hard to keep material organized when you're working on quilting. I think if I do a little each time I finish some project, I can stay ahead of it.
Tomorrow I think I'd better spend a little time getting caught up with my picture sorting on my computer. Digital cameras allow me to get way behind real fast.
