I've reached my limit

It's 4:15 pm and I think I'd better call it quits on my downsizing chores today.  So easy to overdo it when you continually think "just one more thing."   I started on the back bedroom this morning around 9, maybe a little sooner, I can't remember --and who cares anyhow?  ha ha

I was dreading starting this room as it's full of so many memories and JUNK!  I did put a dent in it, though; got all my knickknacks wrapped and packed (except the ones I'm selling or giving away --and those were MANY.  You get into a certain frame of mind once you decide you're disposing of treasures. I suppose some people never have this hangup but I know a lot who just plain couldn't manage to do it.  As it is, I'm having to go back over things again and again as I decide a second time that no,  I don't need that book or that bric-a-brac or that sweater.

It helps knowing what kind of space I'm looking at once I move and how I'll be paying storage unit fees just to store stuff I probably should say goodbye to.  One thing I'm especially glad about --that my daughters are not going to be stuck with disposing of everything I've accumulated here for 11 years.  Their memories of me would always be ''SHE WAS A PACKRAT!"  But I don't see myself that way.  Perhaps to a degree but I'm a whole lot less of a packrat than some I know. I always have to compare myself to somebody or another.

I emptied out all my embroidery thread and tossed it in one large square Tupperware container. That left me with this very pretty tin so I dumped all the empty thread spools that I've been collecting for who knows why and advertised them on the free website. Sure hope somebody sees their value and comes to pick them up.

I advertised my flag (took  a picture of it flying out front) and I got some screwball telling me I wasn't a good American. Or something? I could understand what the hell he was saying and replied "What?" to him. He replied something equally stupid back so I told him he wasn't making any sense. He must have time on his hands 'cause he proceeded to debate me and said "yes I am making sense."Oh lordy! I'm not in the mood. I deleted all the comments.

I did get half that room cleaned out and tomorrow I will do the other half. It won't take nearly as long or be as physically toiling as I just have to sit and go through things in boxes and sewing notions, etc. and see what I can get rid of it.  I have one large very pretty pink box that is full of bindings, elastic, ribbons, snaps, doodads.   I dumped the entire box in a black bag and decided it was going bye bye.
I'm even getting rid of my knickknacks of pigs and cows and toilets and sinks, and tubs.  Hmmmm... maybe I am a packrat after all. Ha!

I had to go outside to talk on the phone a couple or three times today because reception wasn't good in the house. It gets like that every now and again.  As I sat there, I  saw this bee go into a tiny slit underneath the window screen. Then another bee. I guess they have a nest in the wall? Gives me the creeps.
Maybe I'll go out and clean that screen rim a little bit and mark it with a red marker so you can see what I mean. Now who has time on their hands?

Wow! This second picture makes the hole look much bigger than it actually is. I tried to get a picture of a bee going in but I missed it. Took one of the pretty flowers in the neighbor's yard. Her place is really pretty.
I have some nice red ones blooming in the front yard. The hummingbirds seem to enjoy them a lot.
Well, this is getting boring so I think I'll sign off and head for the recliner. Think I'll fix a salad for dinner and baked potato.  Sammy arrives around noon tomorrow and will stay five days while Jen and Wayne head to Arizona to see Hunter graduate.

My activity calendar for the next couple of weeks reads:  get blood drawn, pick up boxes, go get prescription, take out the trash.  Livin' life on the wild side.
