Going to have a new project-- with a PS

I went for a little ride around town for a half hour. Thought I would cool off getting out of the apartment but even with all the car windows open, the car was like an oven and I couldn't wait to get back home. I did take a few pictures. One was of my friend Doris LaChance's house out on Jackman near North Beach.

Last time I took a picture of this house, it didn't have  that deck built on. In fact, Doris' old place is one of the few houses that pretty much looked like it did when we were kids. Big lot too so I don't know why nobody's bought it up yet. Or torn down the house to make a bigger house.  That area out there (like the rest of the town) is wall to wall large homes pretty much sitting on top of each other. I did notice that a home is going up right next door to Doris' place and I'm betting it will be a big house too. I'll take a picture of it later when it's completed.

I hunted and hunted trying to find the picture I took of Doris' place before the deck was built but darn if I could find it.  I even went to my blog and scrolled through several posts. And that is going to be my next project -- trying to get all the pictures saved that I've been posting for year. Well, not all of them. There's way too many and lots of them are boring--even to me.  haha

Was interesting, though, to go back over the years and see the stuff I shared and how my life was moving along. Cornbally sometimes.
I didn't find the one picture I knew I had taken of Doris' house but I found another...

And I heard from her niece who told me she owns the house now and is fixing it up inside. Plus they built the deck. She's going to have me out in the fall to see the inside.   I love seeing houses both from the outside and inside that have been remodeled.  Fascinates me what can be done. I used to sleep over at Doris' place as well as at Carol Rustad's house a few blocks away. Carol's house (now with new owners) is another that has changed remarkably. Here's a painting she has of how her house used to look and another photo of how it looked when it was up for sale.

And one of my own personal favorites is the backyard we had in Kirkland and how it looks today (with a very hefty price tag)

Memories were floating to the surface as my CD of favorites played while I drove the streets of my teenage years.  Like 'Theme from a Summer Place' as I drove by The Uptown,.

And the Green Green Grass of Home as I drove past Chetzemoka.  Tons and tons of cars there today. Same at North Beach. I couldn't even find a parking place at either spot. Just got a picture on my phone from Mary and Andy's new pool. Well, Jakes' new pool I should say. The neighbors are already in it.
Well, gotta go check out Adam Sandler in Hustle. Mary says it's worth watching. Netflix.
