Brrr....my fingers are cold

My morning routine.....Sit on the side of the bed for a minute or so and wish I felt more rested, more peppy, more pretty (good luck on that Joyce!), and decide which body part is going to act up today.  It's been about 3 weeks since I've had to deal with toe, foot, ankle, calf cramps, and I didn't take it for granted either.  Last night it returned.  What is causing this?  Age? Not drinking enough water (don't think so), minerals being zapped in my body from b/p pills? Nah....   My doctor  thinks it could very easily be problems with my back.  Yeah, let's blame that.  As good as anything else I suppose.  Can you tell I'm a tad cranky today?  ha ha

One thing I like about heading to this particular room in the house (my sewing room/office) is that it warms up toasty nice very quickly. I'd love to have my window view look out on the ocean or the mountains but it's just the neighbor's side of their house.  Oh well, I'm thankful I have a window and it's as large as it is. I'm thankful I'm not homeless. I'd really hate waking up on the street and trying to get warm. I swear. I don't know how those folks do it.  Especially the older ones.

Yesterday, I took Sammy for a short walk down the alley and back.  Which basically meant he stopped to smell the weeds and pee where other dogs have peed.  I worked on a chapter in my book and was fairly pleased with the results.  This one had to do with the Rec Center burning down in 1943. Interesting stuff I found on microfiche at the library. Going back up there tomorrow to look for more.

Hunter borrowed my car for a couple hours yesterday as his truck is in the shop. Decided he didn't think it drove as well as his mom's so he brought it back later to trade them out. She took my car this morning to run her errands and I'll head to Safeway later this afternoon.  Gotta buy some groceries for supper. The twins are coming over and I'm fixing my taco pie dish that they like.

I plan on working on my latest quilt today too.  I finished one for my granddaughter, Catie, but she'll have to wait until Christmas to get it.  This next one is probably going to be for a guy.  It's got a fish and water theme.  Both materials picked up at Goodwill (one was a shower curtain).  Kind of pretty, if I do say so myself.

Jenni's been after me to watch Shameless on Netflix. I hear her roaring in her room when she's watching and since I really like William H. Macy, I decided to give it a try.  Watched it once a while back and it didn't appeal to me so I quit. Decided to give it a second chance. I laughed out loud a couple times at the first episode but didn't laugh once at the second show last night.  I "might" give it one more chance as she tells me I give up too early on shows.  Well, maybe, but I also think we're a generation apart and have completely different tastes in what is entertaining.    I like old English families and their straight-laced ways.  I do like violence now and again, though, too, as I'm not a complete prude.  Ray Donovan, for example, was a big favorite with me. So was The Sopranos, Dexter, Six Feet Under, and the Godfather movies.

Jen and I are going Thanksgiving dinner shopping on Saturday.  We're just having the usual menu -- turkey, dressing, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, green salad, cranberries, and three pies -- pumpkin, blackberry, and apple.  Should be about 9 of us.

Started my Trump scrapbook yesterday. Adding newspaper and internet stories as I go along. And political cartoons, etc.  And no, I'm not a fan. Never will be.  I think America has taken a giant step backward.  Time will prove me right.

Guess I'd best get busy now. Have several projects in the works -  one being a new cookbook I want to write.  Found my birth announcement on microfiche while at the PA library. Leader got my birth date wrong.
