Woke up feeling a lot better today. Sure makes a difference if you get to sleep. I did my usual puttering and then settled in to work on sewing and writing. Boring, huh? Yeah, well, this is my life.
I did manage to get a quilt put together (Christmas present) although I still need to hem it. That'll be my morning project tomorrow. I also got another chapter written for my book. Am close to 30,000 words now so I guess you could say it's about half done. Am playing with the idea of going up to the library and spending some time on their microfiche machine reading old Leaders. Like back in the 40s and 50's. They only go through 1960, unfortunately, but I think I can find enough material if I sit and browse long enough. At least enough to jumpstart my idea list for chapter ideas. So interesting to read those old newspapers. At least it is for me.
I made a quick Goodwill run to see if I could find a three-ring binder notebook to start my Trump scrapbook. Found a large one in pretty good shape for 99 cents and all the others (not near as nice) were $2 or $3 or more. The one I bought has teddy bears on it but that's okay. I'm gonna cover it up with something appropriate. Maybe a picture of a pig. Everybody needs a project.
Goodwill was doing a pretty brisk business. I picked up a journal that looked brand new for $3 and a smaller diary for $1. I always like to buy little books, nice boxes, pretty tins, material, and sewing notions. I found a nice jigsaw puzzle ($1.29) that is made by a well known company selling their puzzles for $10-$20. I was happy to find that and my set it up this afternoon in the kitchen.
Watched the Seahawks last night and then a movie with Helen Mirren (on Amazon I think?) called Eye in the Sky. Also starred Aaron Paul from Breaking Bad. It was pretty good.
Ordered this toy I saw advertised on tv and they must have gotten a ton of orders as I placed the order Oct 14 and the tracking shows my card was just charged today. I got two for the price of one so that'll take care of two more Christmas gifts. Come to think of it, though, maybe I'll give it to Jake for his third birthday. He's having a party on Dec. 3.
I tried to make a phone call but it kept telling me I had no service. Does that every now and again. Sometimes I'll go outside to call but today it still wouldn't give me a line. Wonder why it does that. Heaven help me if I need to call 911.
Jenni gave Sammy a bath in my shower today, thinking maybe the sink bath last time was too scary for him. I told her if he comes out acting like his back is out again, we'll know it's because of stress.
Well, he didn't. He was running like lightning from one room to another -- so happy to have it over with.
And that's about all I have today.
