Anyhow, I like this foot doctor. Saw him about 3 years or so and liked him then too. He recommended biofreeze to help the foot, toe, ankle cramps. Says he prefers the spray as it's quick and easy. Also this other cream called Zostrix. Also said my circulation was pretty good except for the toes area and recommended I not tie up sneakers all the way at the top as it might be pinching a nerve in my foot because I have a high arch. Suggested I talk to my doctor again about getting back on Gabepentin. I took it years ago but can't remember now what side effect made me discontinue. I do hate my memory!
I was thinking one of my toes on the left foot had hammer toe and he said yes it did, but it wasn't as bad as he's seen in lots of other folks. Also suggested that any sneakers I buy have a hard surface on the lining of the back of the heel; not soft (like I have now). Told me not to lace them up all the way; but to only go 2/3 of the way up. Also told me it was very likely my cold and crampy toes were related to back issues. Which is the same thing my regular doctor said was probably a cause. Sigh....
I left there and drove across town to Walmart. Nothing else was open yet. Bought some suet for the bird cage in the back, a few more groceries, and a couple of creams. Also gave a homeless guy a couple bucks who was standing at the intersection. Stopped at the bank to get cash for birthday gifts and then browsed Goodwill. Their prices are too high. Even on Christmas decos that you can tell are very much used. I did buy three pieces of material for quilt backs. One was a sheet but the other two were plain yards of cotton. Got quite a bit and it only cost me $12. Just took them out of the washer and as I tossed in the dryer, I'm wondering now if one of those pieces will work for a quilt back. It's cotton but I think it's partly polyester too as it's light and silky, if you know what I mean. I'll still try to use it one way or another. Price was too good not to snap it up.
Traffic was light everywhere I went and that's always a delight. In fact the only thing that irritated me the whole 2-1/2 hours I was out was one of the workers in the Walmart pharmacy. Half of them are super rude. This one was working the window where you drop off a prescription or ask for info. I was the only one in line and stood there (we were probably a foot apart). She didn't acknowledge me or look up. Kind of pretended she was ever so busy. I watched her and she basically was putting stickers on a piece of paper and running them through a copier. She finally says "I'll be with you in a minute." Still didn't look up and I was tempted to tell her the customer service was its usual poor quality. I finally backed up my cart and left. Now I'm kicking myself for not saying something.
I'm basically a bitch most of the time so I don't understand why I have these moments of timidity. Had she even looked up and smiled I probably would have let her continue with her stickers but to act like I was an interruption she wanted to ignore was enough to make me see red!
And you haven't really got much in the way of expressing your displeasure to management. I've called that store more than once about the lack of anyone being around to help in the fabric dept even after ringing their stupid bell over and over. All you get is an assistant who will tell the manager your message. I do hate being dependent on Walmart. I'm going to have to remember to never go there unless I really really need something cheaper. sigh.....
One of my stops was at Pacific Office Equipment. I go there to copy quilting patterns that I share with Ann Robson. I'm anxious to start this next panel as it really looks cute.
They were selling coasters of various sports teams so I picked up a couple for Christmas gifts of the Seahawks.
I'm heading out this afternoon to get my hair cut but nothing much else on the agenda so I think I'll work on my book. I went through three notebooks of "saved stuff" the other day looking for ideas for chapters. I found a few I think I can use. Yesterday I was tired and listless all day long. Sat and watched the Seahawks, napped, read a bit (Stephen King), and had to force myself up to throw dinner together. At least I can have leftovers tonight. Cornish game hen, stovetop dressing and gravy, and corn.
Well, that's it for now. Lunch time.
