Sick of Winter

Man! I wish Mother Nature would have a hot flash.  These cold temps are killing me.  And I've got to find a way to NOT GET UP SO EARLY just because my bladder wants me to take a quick walk into the bathroom at 4:30 a.m.  Most of the time I can fall back to sleep for another couple hours but there are those times when I'm perfectly rested and wide awake so I throw back the covers and begin my day full of pep and vigor.  Doesn't last long, however.

I did get three loads of laundry washed, dried, and put away and various "paper work" chores completed but big deal!  By noon I was dragging and I couldn't warm up to save my soul.  I made a quick run to Swains and the Dollar Tree and then broke my diet by stopping at Safeway to buy a loaf of bread.  All I could think about was toast, grilled cheese, peanut butter & jam, tuna fish, turkey, french toast...and on and on.  I walked by SW's deli and they were selling thinly sliced turkey at 50% off. SCORE! I  bought a pound and went on my merry way home.

Yesterday when Jen and I stopped at Safeway on the way home from the casino, I resisted buying bread but did buy maple nut ice cream.  I was ticked off 'cause I didn't win.  ha ha  Plus I ached all over and wanted some.  I've discovered that having ice cream in the house definitely elevates my mood. I was happy.

The sky looked gray and dark all day.  Lots of snow in the mountains but duh....it is winter after all.
Just heard one of the Seattle forecasters say we're gonna get more this weekend maybe. Ugh....
Went to the casino but "my system" didn't work and I left money there. Not a lot. Maybe $10 and I'm okay with that.  I had the waitress take our picture over the protests of a couple who thought their hair  looked awful. My hair was the worst, however, which is why I have a hat on.  I need to study that picture so I can remind myself to work harder at losing the weight.  My photographs are getting worse as I age.

I had Linda pick me up one of the PT library ornaments that Jason Gould painted.  So pretty.
I took a picture of the Christmas display in the casino lobby while I was there. They sure decorate nice. Especially the outside lights.  Thousands of them and they're a delight to see when you come down the hill and it's all dark and gloomy out.
I missed my sister-in-law who came by with my t-shirt quilt. I washed it this morning and have it hanging in the kitchen.

I also like the birthday card she left with it.....the old Lincoln building where I went to school (as did my dad and my kids)  Course it looked different as the years passed. I'll have to add a recent one too.

Here's a floor mat Linda P gave me for Christmas. We opened early.  I just love this....
Well, I've gotta go plug in my crock pot or at least put a pan of water on the stove. A friend told me that the dry air is what is causing my eyes to be so itchy and uncomfortable.

My Christmas wrapping was finished but I had to go buy a few more little things so maybe tomorrow I'll have the energy to get that done.  Need to get into Port Townsend too but that might have to wait until it warms up a bit. I just don't like driving on roads that look like they could become snow covered before I got back home.

My inner core sure was unwilling to warm up today. I took two hour nap in my recliner but had to get up after a few minutes to change clothes. I put on long underwear and warm pjs and still needed the heating pad under my legs.  Old lady circulation is all clogged up I suspect.

Here's my favorite Trump picture from Facebook.
