8:15 a.m. Just finished a breakfast of french toast and two link sausages. Worked my crossword puzzle online and am sitting here with my first cup of coffee. View outside the sliding glass door shows a thin layer of snow. Not much but enough that I can tell I'd probably slip if I ventured outside onto the deck. Which I don't intend to do. Kept my long underwear on this morning as keeping my legs warm seems to be a challenge as I sit in front of my laptop.
I pretty much worked on editing my book all day long yesterday. Made a quick run to Walgreens to pick up some reprints to enclose in a letter to my sister and unfortunately, they were clearing out Valentine shelves to make way for Easter. Sitting there with a 70% off sign on them were several teddy bears. Big ones! Oh dear, I can't resist teddy bears at a super cheap price. So I bought THREE!
I'd like to give one to my grandson, Jake, but I'm betting his folks hope I don't. I'll think on it. I know he's not all that wild about stuffed animals. Into cars and trucks more. I just may give them to girl friends. My older ones. They can appreciate the cuteness. I think.
Have you ever gone to bed so tired that you drop off immediately but keep getting woke up with what I guess? is snoring? Not really sawing logs type but the kind where your lips wiggle and shake like in a comic strip of a guy sleeping on the couch? Twice I was awakened with my mouth just blubbering away like I was trying to blow raspberries or something. The second time it alarmed me. I thought "what the hell is wrong with my mouth? Am I having a stroke?" I'm always a drama queen.
I managed to fall asleep and within an hour I was throwing my legs over the side of the bed and sqwawking like an old hen. Damn foot cramps. And not even foot cramps really. More like ankle cramps on the outside of my lower leg. I've had these before and they're dreadful. Went to the doctor and went to the foot doctor after they kept happening but guess what...no answers there! I stretched and walked around and flexed my foot a bit but I was sooooo tired, I just wanted to crawl under the covers and sleep. Thankfully, they left as quickly as they arrived. I can't, for the life of me, understand what causes them. And obviously, they're not going to kill me -- at least not today. Sigh....
Between editing my book and working crossword puzzles, I have "words" running through my head as I doze off at night and wake up in the morning. I've been re-writing certain paragraphs of my book as I proof read it once again. I'm maybe halfway through and am hoping I can finish it up today or tomorrow. Then I start the insertion of what pictures I want to use. I've got over 200 pages (without the photos) and it seems the price of self-publishing has gone up a wee bit. Or maybe my other book didn't have that many pages. At any rate, I was hoping to keep the cost of the book at $15 or $18 but I might have to go up to $20. I'm probably repeating myself. Nothing new there.
Jenni left for scrapbook camp on Thursday and returns tomorrow. Not much on my agenda this week although I plan on driving to the casino on Friday to have lunch with the PT girls -- IF there's no snow on the ground. I need to stop at Office Depot and price office chairs that are higher too. I suppose I should send my income tax stuff to Mary next month to see if I can get a refund. Hate to bother her now as she's so busy. But.....she's never NOT BUSY! She just got back from Los Angeles and has several more work trips on her calendar in the next few weeks for Austin, Miami, and N.Y.
Also is planning a Caribbean cruise this summer and a trip to Germany in the fall.
My traveling days are pretty much behind me, I suspect. Just too tiring. I can't even get over to the Seattle side of the water without stressing about the traffic I'd have to contend with. Well, time to get busy on editing. Told myself that I wasn't going to get side tracked today. But first, here's a couple pictures I just snapped at my sliding glass door.
I'll do your taxes. And no to the teddy bear. Ummm....no thank you. :)
