I've become less and less interested in cooking and baking this past year. Maybe even longer than that. And dinner time can be such a struggle to think of something easy but good. I had a hamburger at the casino lunch today. I always do but I should have ordered something else because I forgot I planned on a hamburger for supper. I do like hamburgers, especially if I have buns in the house.
Anyhow, I buy these frozen patties so I can take one out to make just one sandwich.
They aren't particularly yummy fried up but I try to perk them up with tomatoes, cheese, lettuce, etc. Tonight, though, I had two thawed out (so I'd have another for tomorrow) and this is what I did.....
I seasoned both patties (or is it pattys?) whatever...
and I mixed in chopped onion, worcestershire sauce, an egg, bread crumbs, a little tomato sauce and formed it into a small meatloaf which I baked. Made mashed potatoes and peas too. It was delicious. And just enough meatloaf for tonight and tomorrow. Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. Probably because I seldom buy beef and use ground chicken or turkey more often.
Another frozen product I liked (also Safeway brand) is frozen meatballs. They're way better than anything I could make and faster!
Went to the casino today for lunch but didn't win. Joyce got two free pillows they were giving out to seniors. Monday is senior day so it was more crowded than the usual Friday we go on. I stopped at the clinic on the way home to have more blood drawn and will go in next Tuesday to discuss my chronic kidney disease. Sigh....Oh well, I guess we all gotta' die of something. (not that I'm dying...but you never know)
Tomorrow and probably the rest of the week I plan on sewing in the kitchen. It'll be messy but I'll be having fun. Here's a cute thing I saw on Facebook yesterday.
And here's a picture I took of Wayne, my son-in-law, when he came by to get the last of his things out of the garage. He just got a new truck.
And last, but not least, here's what I worked on yesterday. Been wanting to make something with my button collection and this project was super easy. Just one pipe cleaner and whatever buttons you wanted to string on. I'll give them away as Christmas ornaments.
Tired now so I'm off to the recliner to work on cross stitch and yell at stupid people on television.
