The Golden Globes

I do love award shows. There aren't too many things I miss not having cable tv anymore but there are some things. I thought I had it set up with my ROKU device where I was logged in on NBC and was going to get to watch.  Everything kept coming up error message. I tried other apps too but nothing worked. I won't go into detail on everything I did because it's boring as hell!  I finally gave up and today I watched a few highlights on Youtube.

One thing I am going to do (and I usually do this after or before the Oscars) is to go to IMDB and read up on all the nominees.  Usually, I haven't seen any of them and except for some of the TV shows nominated this year, I don't think I've seen any of the movies.  I don't go to the movies anymore. Too easy to just wait and let it come out on video.  I think, though, that if I had a friend who loved going to the movies and if we could make it something we did regularly, I would probably go to the movies regularly. (although it is getting expensive)

I wrote down all the nominees yesterday, both the shows and the actors. Eventually, I will watch every single one of them. And then I'll critique each one according to my taste and judgement.

My list is long this year and it might just take me 12 months to see them all -- but I will!

I finished watching the latest season of 'Life Below Zero' last night. (on Hulu)  It does take some doing and surfing around to find things worth watching but I can usually find something.  There was a time when I could be entertained by just about anything but I've become more particular now and my patience wears thin if I think they're taking too long to be entertaining.

I was busy today. Wanted to finish this quilt I was working on and I did.  Tomorrow I may start something else. So many projects waiting for me.  I rearranged the living room a little bit too. Wanted to get my recliner away from the heat register as it was bothering me when I tried to sleep.

My sciatica (I've decided that is what my problem is these past weeks) causes me to wake up at 3 a.m. and head for the recliner to try and finish my nights' sleep.  I've got a whole system worked out where I use a heating pad on my low back and a heated rice pack on my legs or hip.  Got a little carried away this morning, however, as my back was beet red and itchy when I woke up.  Kind of surprising as I was pretty sure I had my pajama top between me and heat pad.  Maybe not. I'll have to pay more attention next time.

I haven't decided yet if the pot cream I'm using is helping. I might try the oil next.
I do think it's helping my upper arm aching, however.  I don't know what's going on with that. Bursitis probably.  My poor body is just waging war with me, I think.

Well, I've got some leftovers in the fridge that I really need to use up before I cook that yummy looking pork roast that Jenni gave me yesterday.  Guess I'll head to the kitchen and see if I can make it look halfway appetizing.

Here's the quilt I finished today.  It's called "Belle."
