I thought I was going to have a halfway productive day but no, I was wrong. I did okay in the morning. Spent a couple hours or more cutting out material for a new baby quilt. Then I stopped to make a sandwich for lunch. Finally got rid of the last of the meatloaf from a few days ago. I'm going to have to remember to add sausage to the ground beef the next time I decide to make a meatloaf as it sure tasted better than my usual productions. I worked on a crossword puzzle while eating but the latest book I have is way harder than I like so I can't zip through them and some are so difficult, I can't even use my crossword dictionary for help.
After lunch I headed to the recliner to read some more on my Michelle Obama book. It's a good read but these days (these years really) I can't read more than 15 or 20 minutes and I nod off. Irritating as hell as I've got several new books here waiting for me. One arrived today, in fact. I turned my electric blanket throw on high and settled in on my recliner for a quick nap. I enjoy naps most of the time but I do not like that drowsy, dragging, sluggish feeling afterwards when you have to fight your way back to normal life. I swear. Sometimes I feel like I could sleep my day away because once I go under, I'm not especially keen to get up again. Must be kind of like what dying is. Oh, isn't that a happy thought.
I went into my closet to start cleaning out clothes to donate and managed to get ONE THING off of a hanger. And it had to go in the wash first. Everything I came across was for warmer weather (and a slimmer Joyce) so I figured in my state of mind, I'd end up tossing my entire closet in a black bag. Can't have that even if all my clothes are pretty much oversize t-shirts.
I think I'm going to have to get going on some writing project. That's usually a surefire way to get me motivated and up out of bed in the mornings. I'll have to think on that subject. Must be something of interest I could write about. Trash was picked up this morning and once the recycle truck comes through, I'll have to walk down to the alley and pull the large bins back to the side of the deck. The sun just came out so maybe I should get off my butt and do at least one bin now. Heaven knows the fresh air would probably help my morale. Damn cold weather! I'm sick of it.
Well, I'm better now. I did go out to get the trash and even did it without a coat. Noticed one little iris growing in one of the raised beds near the gate. That was comforting.
My tv entertainment last night was hit and miss. I had rented The Favourite on Amazon after watching Olivia Colman accept the Oscar for best actress. She was funny. The movie, however, didn't really appeal much to me. Which is surprising as I generally like all things British. I watched an hour and switched to a documentary on mountain climbing called Meru. It started to put me to sleep after an hour so I tried a third movie and watched Life Inside Out. It was your typical soap opera type show and kind of boring but I watched it anyhow. I've got a whole bunch of stuff on my "watchlist" so I'll try again tonight to be entertained.
Anybody ever heard of this website called Quora? It popped up in my gmail inbox a couple weeks ago which was irritating as I try to keep my gmail just for my email and not ads. Apparently, it's some kind of google type search engine that can answer all kinds of questions for you. I unsubscribed because whenever I asked Google something, quora came on and asked me if I wanted to know anymore about the subject. Guess I'm going to have to read up on my privacy settings some more.
The recycle truck just went through so I guess I'll go pull in that second bin and have that chore off my list. Tomorrow I will try again to thin down my clothes. Isn't that interesting? Yep. That's all I got for now.
