My "to-do list" for today had next to no chores on it as I planned to work on my latest sewing project, do a bit on the jigsaw puzzle in the kitchen, and read until I got sleepy. So far, I haven't made it to the sewing room. But I will. Meanwhile, I got out my paper shredder from the garage, promptly clogged it up and spent an hour unclogging it. Still won't work except in reverse so I tossed it in the trash bin outside instead of putting it back in the garage like I normally would. Just too disgusted with it! Other things I ended up doing: unloading the dishwasher, washing a load of laundry, stripping my bed for clean sheets, sending off a get well card, emailing a friend, baking an apple pie (store bought crusts), filling the hummingbird feeders with fresh nectar, playing solitaire online, working the crossword puzzle, calling a friend to invite her to the casino next week, and talking on the phone with Mary Gaboury down in Yuma.
Dinner is going to be leftover meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Oh, and apple pie, of course. Yum. My daughter, Mary, found a dog park in Renton and took Poppy and Jake there yesterday. I wish I could figure out how to share the video she sent me on my phone of her running with delight. So cute. Jake was enjoying the place too.
She said Jake fell asleep quickly last night and Poppy didn't want to move at all. Good ole fresh air and exercise. Maybe I should do that since sleep is always iffy at my house. I did sleep good last night, though. Probably because I was feeling a bit under the weather and was tired. I'm always tired.
Went to the surgeon and I guess my old gall bladder is gonna be yanked out March 19th. I'll be glad when that's behind me. I see the first day of spring is the next day. Looking forward to spring, that's for sure!
This weekend marks the 37th anniversary of my marriage split. Hard to believe I've been single all these years. I suppose I could have remarried if I'd put a little effort into it but I just never seemed to find the need. Man! Almost four decades of living the solitary life.
And I guess that's all I got for today. Am trying to be more diligent about daily blogging. Even if I have little to yak about.
