20 REASONS TO KEEP RHODY ALIVE

Oh Lord! Don't let the Rhody Festival die.  Old organizations and community activities often have a way of slipping away as the citizens involved age and the next generation has new ideas and/or not that much interest in the familiar traditions but I sure hope the Rhododendron Festival that is decades old can continue to hang on.
I know it will never go back to the way it was. High School bands become smaller, floats become too hard to transport or to find people to build them, entering the competition to be queen doesn't have the attraction it  had in years past, carnivals become too expensive to frequent as the cost of running one becomes a struggle financially for the owners, and VOLUNTEERS become difficult to find.  I hope it survives this dip in its popularity. It's worth saving. Here's a few memories.....
