Didn't sleep too well last night. Too many bathroom trips and my body just wasn't comfortable. Feet and toes were acting up again. Today the UPS guy brought me this pair of socks I ordered on Amazon where each toe has its own place (like gloves) Sure hope they fit and help my nighttime issue with neuropathy. Odd how some nights it's not a problem and other nights it is. At least I didn't have any calf cramps last night. I always appreciate it when those stay away.
I rearranged my "play areas" a bit this morning. Moved a complicated craft kit I'm working on to the card table here in the corner of the kitchen. Think the light is better, plus I wanted that table in the sewing room freed up for sewing. I'm in the middle of a table runner right now. Should finish it tomorrow. I had made four squares (Aunt Vina's favorite it's called) but once I finished each one, they just weren't perfect points. Even though I was careful measuring, cutting, and sewing. I think I'm better off sticking to patterns that are just square or rectangle. Anytime I have corners to match, it just never seems to flow peacefully. I played around with it today by adding more material in between each square and around so it does look much better. I ran to Joanne's to pick up half a yard of batting but was so discouraged at the amount of cars in the parking lot and at the cash register and the cutting table, I decided to head down to the quilt store. I was the only one there so I got in and out.
I painted a few rocks this morning but need to practice more with my paint pens to see what surface they work better on. I wasn't all that pleased with most of my creations but I'm always very critical of my artwork anyhow. Mailman brought me my mod podge outdoor bottle and brushes so I'm going to try that out on the rocks tomorrow instead of spraying.
I've got peanut butter cookies baking in the oven now. About two dozen. I'll most likely end up eating them all. It's what I do. Tomorrow will be more painting, more sewing, and more craft kit work. Wanted to get some reading in today but my eyes are too tired and sleepy so I know darn well I wouldn't get a page done and I'd need a nap. Don't like taking a nap this close to dinner time so I'll just wait for my slump period to pass.
Watched The Walking Dead until after 11. First time they ticked me off with their very gross killing scenes. The zombies don't bother me (they're already dead anyhow) but when the human bad guys start killing the human good guys and doing it in a horribly vicious manner, I don't take well to that. They ended up killing off two main characters --both of whom I liked. And yes, I know exactly how I sound. I have no life so this is what I get involved in. ha ha
I've got the Great British Baking Show on now. One of my favorite cooking shows. I also enjoy Trisha Yearwood's show and Ree Drummond on The Pioneer Woman. Absolutely nothing on my calendar until Thanksgiving but I don't mind. I can easily amuse myself within these four walls.
Granddaughter Catie is traveling via car with her boyfriend, Louie, and two other guys. One guy is going to settle in WA like Louie and the other is from the UK and thought a trip across the US was a good way to see the country. They've already had one flat tire and hadn't even got out of FL yet. Oh well, they're young and they'll adapt. Here's a photo she posted on FB.
Well, that's all I got today. First cookie sheet is out of the oven so the house smells good.
