Yesterday I was feeling a bit punky but all better now. I did my exercises and picked up Mary Gaboury to drive around town. Stopped at Safeway on the way home so she could buy ingredients for root beer floats. We stopped at the cemetery first so I could put my chicken rock on Grandpa's grave. It was a large rock and kind of heavy and now sits by the plastic chicken that my brother, Les, left a few years ago.
We stopped by Maureen Ellis McKenney's place so Mary could leave word for her cousin, Dave Brooling, that they were having a small family gathering this Saturday in place of the Deleo Derby.
From there we drove up to Corona & Copper street (near the grange) so I could get a picture of the courthouse that I noticed last time we were there.
Then we swung out North Beach area. I should have gotten out and taken a picture of the parking lot but there was a car behind me trying to maneuver in. No place to park and cars were parked clear up the street and down side streets. North Beach is no secret anymore. Saw Jack Guiher in her garden on the way back so I took a shot of him.
We rode all over Morgan Hill looking at the "new neighborhoods" with large homes and more being built. On our way to drive through town I stopped at Ralph Nite's place to leave a rock I had painted for him.
We didn't drive through Fort Worden but did stop on the cliffside outside one of the gates. We took each other pictures there as we wanted the lighthouse in the background.
I had to take two other photos from that lookout too as it's so pretty up there.
Felt good to get back to the apartment with a fan running. Going to get hotter as the day goes on. I'm starting a new jigsaw puzzle and will probably paint some rocks, as well. Tomorrow is physical therapy at 11 and the next day, Mary and I are going to Sequim to hit Walmart and my favorite second hand store up there -- Serenity House. Maybe Michael's too. Will depend on our energy level. Probably stop at 7 Cedars for lunch.
Called to make a doctor appt with a dermatologist and while I figured I'd have to wait months, there was a cancellation and I'm getting in August 5th. Been years since I had a skin check. I've also got physical therapy that day (an hour earlier) so I'll probably just take a book and sit in the car for an hour rather than go home and turn around to come back. It is nice living in the same neighborhood as the doctor offices.
And here's my favorite tidbit from Facebook this week....
