Do you have a favorite collection?
John: I have a collection of junk.
Marcella: My ceramic houses
Joyce: Postcards. Also elephant and frog knickknacks. And
old toys, comic books, and children’s books.
And tons of photos.
Dale: My jade carvings
Janie: My sewing machine
Jimmy: A few antiques, about 1500 arrowheads, an
outstanding rock collection
Sue S: Cups and saucers. My dad made me a beautiful shelf
for my collection and mom gave me many of the cups. The shelf is attached to my
kitchen wall. I always walk past them and think of my folks.
Marlee: I have three collections. I started collecting music
boxes when I was in high school. When Jeff started collecting old toys, I boxed
up most of my music boxes, figuring I could display them in some sort of display
cabinet in my later years. Several years ago, I started collecting snowmen and
I have over 200 now. A couple of years ago I started collecting wall pockets
and have 52 of those.
Cindy: Collecting is what I do best. I have the most incredible
miniature tea set collection. The tea pots have to actually be able to pour to
be part of my collection. I love miniature chairs also. I have a large cat
collection too. I don’t have much room so it’s best that I collect miniatures.
Bill: I love collecting miniature clocks. I am not into having junk all over the house
and I throw away things I probably shouldn’t because of clutter.
Sue W: I collect bird, frog, turtle and fish knickknacks.
Flower seeds and bulbs. Fossils and other stones. We inherited a complete
20-year collection of National Geographic magazines from 1978.
Mary: I have a collection of pictures and I collect coins
from around the world for my niece, Catie.
John: Four kids
Marcella: As a freshman at Washington State College, I was
in a drama class and had the lead in a play.
Arlie: Marrying the perfect wife and raising the perfect
son. Since then, we have gained the perfect grandson.
Joyce: I had the courage to divorce and lead my own life in
1982. Also, that I quit smoking in 1992 and that I found my mother’s biological
family.
Dale: My jade carvings.
Janie: 1988 employee of the year with Mr. Build
Organization. I beat out more than 50 other nominees from Washington, Oregon,
and Idaho.
Jimmy: Retiring without getting fired.
Sue S: Going back to college and getting my degree.
Marlee: Almost 27 years of marriage to a wonderful man and
two beautiful children who graduated from high school in 1996 and 1997.
Cindy: Mirinda, my daughter. She is almost grown now and
she is the most beautiful, honest, kind, intelligent, young woman I know.
Bill: Being a dad
who is totally involved in his kids’ lives. Once they are grown, I hope to find
a partner to share the remainder of my life with. Other accomplishments: high school
valedictorian, Georgia State vice-president for Future Farmers of America,
State winner in Georgia for leadership.
Sue W: Giving birth to Catie; graduating from college with
a degree in science, a successful marriage.
Mary: Catie in my life. Obtaining my bachelor’s degree through
night classes. Going to Europe and Japan by myself.
