Maddie ties the knot & Grandma goes to the beach

 Maddie and her Air Force fella eloped to  the Oregon coast yesterday and she posted pics on Facebook today. What a beauty!

This was the day she picked out her dress. She has a cute shape --just like I had at her age. NOT!

I went to the beach today too but not this beach. Mary Gaboury and I drove to Marrowstone Island. Stopped at a house my brother, Les, was working on, and dropped off his birthday present. He'll be 74 on the 4th of July.

We stopped at East Beach so I could pick up a bag of rocks for painting. Took one shot of Mary on the beach and another of a house under construction.

Then we drove out to Fort Flagler to eat our lunch.

                    We sat in the car to eat and this was our view. LOVED IT!

I wish I could have gotten a sharper picture of the mill. If I knew how to work my camera, I'm betting I could have had a nicer shot.

Lots of campers out there and lots of windsocks. Very colorful.  I was jealous of the bike riders getting to pedal around.

We stopped at QFC in Hadlock as I was in the mood for a maple bar.  But they had NONE!  I bought a small box of doughnut holes but they weren't even close to being as good as Safeways so I gave them away when I got back home.  BTW, I hate that parking lot out there.

Once we got back in town, we took a turn at the hospital to get a "town view" from that hill. I couldn't believe how much the trees have grown blocking the panorama. Nature's progression I suppose. This picture doesn't really explain what I mean.

Only black mark for the day was the hip pain I was dealing with.  Very discouraging as I thought my cortisone shots had fixed me up. Maybe not. The area giving me grief was more low back and right hip, not even close to where the needle was injected.  It was significant enough to make me use my walking stick every time I got out of the car and even then, I couldn't wait to sit down again.  Woe is me.  I suspect this is just the way it's going to be. Period.

But I'm home now and all is well. I'll head out to walk again in the morning do or die!  No plans for the 4th except to eat.  My appetite has been acute lately. More than usual.  In fact, I'm thinking of baking a blackberry pie tomorrow morning. I have some berries in the freezer that talk to me everytime I open the door.

I've got three fans running in here now as it was kind of stuffy when I got home but it's comfortable now. Plus I'm sitting here in my little pink sundress that I can only wear at home because I'm letting the "girls" be free.  haha
