Sunday Chatter

First day of spring. I had intended to go for a walk today but....(and I've always got an excuse) I went to Safeway and my hip was really hurting by the time I got back to the car. Not sure why because I've had a period of a few days or more where I was doing pretty darn good joint and bone wise and was walking without difficulty. I should have known it wouldn't last.  But oh well, there's always tomorrow.  I mostly bought junk food today. Was in one of those moods.  One of the things I picked up was these cookies....

They were priced relatively cheap and I'd never bought them before. Unfortuanately, they are WONDERFUL!  Dammit!

I've got the sweetest neighbor down the hall. Michelle's hobby is cooking and she's a darn good cook! And she shares with neighbors. I love getting her texts asking if I want some of this or that. And I always say yes. I've had tuna casserole, Mexican salad (huge) bean soup w/ham hocks, and yeast rolls to die for. I love her. Her brother was a year behind me in school. Ray Merritt.

I finished a crazy quilt this afternoon. Might try to finish the backing tomorrow or the next day. It's so pretty.

Last night I finished this jigsaw puzzle and I was so pleased all the pieces were there.
I put my cousin's obit that was in the Port Angeles paper this morning in my obituary notebook of family. Then I took my large "other" obit book over for my neighbor to look over. I figured she know some of the people there and it's always interesting to browse through
Got a text from the widower of my friend, Susie Bishop Bara, who is in town and plans to stop in tomorrow to say hello. Actually he's in Sequim and asked me to stop by but I told him I'd moved to Port Townsend. Shown here on the left.

My cable bill came a few days ago but I didn't open it. Ever since they changed their name to Astound, I knew without a doubt, my bill would be going up. I hate cable companies. They're greedy. My cable tv is paid for here so I only pay for Internet.  They upped me $30!  Now I have to dish out $70 a month and I cannot go without my computer. And they know that. I'm still calling tomorrow to complain.

I signed up for Discovery+ channel ($5 a month until I quit) and last night I watched this very stupid show (but I still couldn't stop watching) called "Loving off the grid."  About these women who looked for husbands online and then went to meet them and live in the woods to see if they could make it work. I gagged and laughed through most of it.

I'm reading four books at once now. I figured one of them would get boring and I'd get them down to a couple but all of a sudden, I'm enjoying every one of them. They still put me to sleep, though. No matter if I try to read earlier in the day, I'm dropping off for a nap. Annoys me no end!

I woke up twice with foot/ankle cramps last night and man, do those hurt!  I wish I knew why it happened. Sometimes I go weeks with no problem and then I have them several nights in a row.  Tomorrow I have to call and make an appt for an ultrasound on my liver. Got a message from my doctor who wanted to check one more thing after I saw her for this ongoing backache. I also have to get blood drawn again for some liver study.  I figured it was probably my kidney acting up but we'll see. Maybe it's neither of those.

My daughter got this fun app on her cellphone that changes faces into the opposite sex. She sent me one of her asking who I thought she looked like. It told her my Uncle Dana or maybe her cousin, Keith, on her dad's side of the family.

I told her to do my face and she thinks I'm a dead ringer for her brother, Joe.
Well, it's only 6:15 pm but I'm ready for my jammies to be put on. Never should have taken that 4:30 nap but I was so tired after reading, I couldn't keep my eyes open. I should go for a walk but we all know that probably isn't going to happen.  I've got both walking sticks in the car. Maybe I'll go down and take just a short walk to see how I do.

An hour late...

Believe it or not, I did walk around the block with my two sticks. I did it okay but I would have been better and faster with the walker. Plus, I didn't dress warm enough and I was way too cold.
