Today I did a little of this and a little of that. Finished a small lap quilt and put it in the bin with maybe 7 other quilts I have done. Have got to find people to give them to. I mopped the bathroom floor and that was exciting. Also had to run the vacuum again because sewing in the living room leaves a lot of threads that show up and need to be disposed of. Worked my crossword and wordle online but couldn't get the wordle today. Yesterday I got it in three tries. I made a pan of cooked vanilla pudding and once it cools, I'll add some Cool Whip and take bowls to three neighbors. Mainly so I don't eat them all myself. I do love cooked pudding.
Mary Gaboury came by and we headed down to Penny Saver to pick up mitey bite sandwiches and our Hit5 tickets. Saw a big ole line of motorycycles coming the highway and they turned heading for Fort Worden. I decided we needed to drive out there ourselves to see what was going on. We were quite surprised at all the roads that had detour signs on them saying local traffic only. As we got closer to the fort gate we were behind a transit bus that stopped to drop off maybe three dozen passengers. All headed inside and we could hear the music. I headed in too but had to turn like I was going to the beach (along the officers row) and then I parked behind the houses and walked across the lawn to try and get some pictures. You can see better pictures at thingnw.com I looked them up and didn't recognize even one singer or band so I guess it was for the younger generation. Tons of booths and tents and a huge stage was set up too. Looked terribly interesting. I saw my apt. manager get off the bus and she was walking (Half running really) down the sidewalk towards the music. Traffic was stalled so I yelled "what are you doing?" She came over to the car and said she bought a three-day pass three months ago when she first heard they were coming.
From there we headed downtown for a quick drive through. Wasn't quick, though, as PT is a huge tourist town now and people were everywhere. I kinda miss the town of my youth. From there we went to QFC as Mary needed a couple items. I sat in the car and people watched. That was fun.
My sister called and wants me to meet her at the Lutheran Church tomorrow at 11 to look over the fabric they're selling up there. I hope I don't find anything I just have to have but I probably will. Am thinking I might whip up a couple (or four) potholders tomorrow since I have 4 crumb squares left and need to use them on something.
I'm hoping to ID this picture. Anybody have any clues as to what was going on? It was taken May 2, 1960 in the PTHS auditorium. I've asked three of the PT teens who are in it but none can recall. I'm hoping to contact two of the Chimacum teens next. Surely someone will remember. I think Alyce Hansen is in the photo too so I may have to show it to her.
