Last Saturday of March

Well, spring finally got here. And I am glad! Now I will await the tree outside my window bloom. Nothing  yet but maybe in another month. Went to Safeway early this morning. Only needed half a dozen items but I was feeling halfway decent so decided to get the errand over and done with. Went for a ride around town afterwards and took these shots. Click on pics to enlarge.

Saw 14+ deer in the Laurel Grove Cemetery
The golf course swamp as seen from F Street

high school campus with weather protection tent
                                                  stairway leading to second floor
the old Lincoln building with pretty windows
the wall below the Lincold building with colorful murals
stopped by grandpa and grandma's graves to see how my painted rock was holding up. It was fine but the lawn sure needs some work. Wish my body would allow me to tackle it
You can't hardly read this wood tombstone of Jack Carroll's but I knew it was his as I'd seen it in previous time. Noticed coins left on top
the old girl scout house. Loved going there

You can't hardly see the old brown house I lived in as a young child. It's on 22nd just off Haines. Below is a shot of how it looked in earlier days

I watched 'A man named Otto' on Amazon prime last night. It was pretty good but not Tom's best I don't think. Forrest Gump and Castaway are my favorites with him, Tonight I'm watching The Whale. I usually watch movies once the rental price is $6 or less. I've been wanting to see The Whale more than any of the others.

My granddaughter's dad died last week. So sad. He wasn't even 60 I don't think. I really liked him. Lived in Florida. Catie flew down and her sisters flew in from Colorado. Mary and Andy have a trip to Vermont planned April 2nd so they decided to go to Florida first to support Catie.

Catie and her dad and sister, Audrey

My other granddaughter, Madelyn, made the PA paper this morning telling about her graduation from officers training school in Alabama. So proud of her,

I've got a laid-back kind of day planned. Most of my days are like that. Today I'll do a little sewing, work on my jigsaw puzzle, and read my book. Sacajawea is going to take me a while as it has over 1300 pages. I'm kind of surprised I'm actually sticking with it. I've got about 800 pages to go.

Had lunch with my daughter, Jenni, a few days back. We met at the casino in Blyn. I lost about $30 (typical for me) but she hit $688!  She bought lunch. haha

I've got golf on right now but I'm not as interested in the women as I am the men. Still prefer the background noise to anything else the tv has to offer these days. I did catch a pretty good movie yesterday, though.  The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet. Never heard of it before but it was very entertaining.

Well, I'd best get into the sewing room now.
