A Little Rain this Saturday Morn

So happy to see and feel raindrops today. I was more than ready to be done with that hot spell. I've gotten a little behind posting on my blog this month so think I'll try and catch up today.  I got up early and made a "to-do list".  Quite a few odd things -- hem a pair of jeans, fix the toe of my tennis shoe, work on shirt stains (most everything I own), write a letter, scrape bird poop off a window screen, make bread pudding, charge an electronic toy, soak combs & brushes, and post on my blog.

Jenni just left to go pick up Maddie and head to Tacoma to buy a prom dress. Having driven into PT yesterday to help Mary G with her garage sale, I can say that I'm more than ready to NOT go anywhere today.  I couldn't believe the incoming traffic and the bumper to bumper cars downtown for the annual Wooden Boat Festival.  I've never gone to one and since walking is becoming an issue now, I probably will never attend one. The  parked cars up Washington Street alone were way past the post office.

Even with off and on rain, a few folks wandered out to hit Mary's sale. Here's some pics I took:
                                          Caren Peterson, Penny Ladue
                                              Crystal Meyers & me
                                           Mary and Sandy North
a partial view of some of the stuff for sale. Dave seated in chair

Here's some pictures I saw on Facebook of cousins.
Scott Arey and his dad, Bill on left.  Lee Arey seated, Brian Dubberly (from Douglas, GA)

Hunter won't allow me to take his picture anymore so I have to be sneaky about it. He stopped in to get his motor bike to go riding with friends so I ran outside with my camera.  It's my job.
Here's some pictures of Becketts Point that Laura Dubberly took and posted on Facebook.  I loved seeing all her photos.

Bill and Lee have sold the old family cabin at Becketts that had been in the family for decades.  Too many politics in the community to put  up with.

Catie and Brandon took Jake to an event at Seattle Center last week called PAX. He loves dinosaurs now.  Here's some photos she took.

                                  a sign of the times......(he's 3)
                                            a cute picture of Brandon

Sammy was very interested in the old box I have in the backyard. Kept barking at it so I suspect perhaps a frog was hidden away.

Mary shared a picture of Jake playing in the yard with neighbor kids.  So cute.....
My latest purchase has been a new Dremel - a drill that works on a variety of textures. I plan to drill holes in my beach glass to make mobiles and jewelry. Sue is coming over to work with me. It looks fairly easy on the videos I've watched on Youtube but we'll see.  I'm kind of excited about trying a new hobby.

Hmmmm.... I can't seem to figure out why it's sideways. I'll have to play around with that.
Here's a cute picture I also saw posted on Facebook of cupcakes.
Jenni and Wayne will be moving into their new house at the end of the month. Meanwhile, she's having a ball buying new "stuff". So happy for them.  Mary and Andy are making plans for yet another trip.  This time to Germany. He has relatives there so they'll have people to be with and show them around.  They also have kids so Jake will have someone to play with and they'll be able to provide a car seat and stroller so Mary doesn't need to take one along. Big help.

Well, my list is slowly getting done. Time to go scrap bird poop on the screen and hem those jeans.  Timer just went off on my  bread pudding so that means I can cross off another thing on my list.  Day is starting fine.
