I've been doing a lousy job of daily posting on my blog. Not that I can think of anything all that interesting to discuss most of the time but I really need to try and stay more current. Had three ankle cramps throughout the night. Made for a lousy nights' sleep. I went to the recliner at 5 and then got up two hours later. Trying so hard to figure out if there's a pattern to these episodes. I can go for weeks and then whammo! Pain night after night. Google says age a lot of the time and then lists all these other things that a person might have - clogged arterys, diabetes, neuropathy, nerve issues in the back...and on and on. Not what a hypochondriac like me needs to be reading. I think I have everything.
I did invest in a pair of knee high compression stockings (on the advice of my doctor) but I don't know if they're helping all that much. Especially when I see the indentation the top of them has made on my fat leg! I have started drinking a glass of water each morning with 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar as that's supposed to be good for a number of issues. Another issue I'm dealing with is itchy ankles at night in bed. Again, Google is intent on telling me all the things it "could be." Said to try calamine lotion and I knew I had some in the bathroom. Went to look for it and it said it expired in 2000. That's only 17 years. I wonder if it's still good. ha ha I also put Vicks on my feet and wore socks to bed. That seemed to give me some relief. Vicks is good for a lot of things.
I went off coffee a few weeks back and switched to tea. Sometimes I wonder if tea is draining the magnesium from my bones. I know. This is my own theory. I think I'm going to lay off tea for a week or two and see if things improve. Coffee was quite easy to quit so I can't imagine tea giving me any problems. I need to drink more water anyhow.
I made a quick Walmart run yesterday morning to return this almost completely full jug of Walmart brand dishwasher detergent. Was told I didn't always need a receipt.
Much to my disgust, I stood in line (there's never enough help in that store) and when I got to the front, she scans the jug and says it's "not in their system" so she can't refund my money. Suggested I go to the Sequim store because maybe I bought it there. What a bunch of hooey! I know darn well I bought it there. Good ole Walmart gets an F == again!
Technology is driving me nuts this week. My phone informed me it needed to "update". I don't know what that means but I know you need to update on your computer from time to time so I said okay. Now the time shows up on the front screen as 10 40. In two rows! I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it to appear the way it used to. And then there's my laptop. Pop-ups have been showing up all the time. I NEVER had this problem before so I must have clicked on something somewhere. I printed off two long pages (single spaced) of steps I need to take to install this virus machine that finds malware. I suppose the directions are clear enough but I'm always scared half to death to download ANYTHING as I always think is just another bug trying to get in. I have definite trust issues.
This program is called ADWcleaner and once I do all the steps, it wants me to download hitmanpro to double check for anything that go through. It's free for a month and then they'll want me to pay. I don't wanna pay! What to do? What to do? I emailed my granddaughter but she's unfamiliar with malware issues so she couldn't counsel me.
A few weeks ago I sent for this gadget this is supposed to let me move all my music on cassettes to my computer. Directions are easy enough but the very first step wants me to download this app. I did that okay but then they said Itunes was going to ask me to open up that app when I got ready. Well, they never asked. I probably have to update Itunes but again, I don't really know what I'm doing. My music files have been screwed up for years. My son didn't help any!
Susan borrowed my car this morning to drive Paul to the Bainbridge ferry. He'll walk on, then walk to the train station (a few blocks away I believe) and take the train to Seatac. Only costs $3 instead of a cab that would run $32+. He'll visit his dad in LA (an annual event where they watch the world series).
Wayne brought Sammy by this morning as he'll be out and about tending to various funeral details. His dad passed away last week from Alzheimers. Jenni went to Ikea this morning and they're still not comfortable with leaving Sammy alone all day as he has a tendency to pee wherever he pleases. Doesn't do that here, though. Course I have a screen he can go in and out of at his leisure.
Work is progressing across the street and it's always interesting to stop and see what's in the works. I imagine they won't be done until next spring or summer, though. Eight families are working on them and no one can move in until all are completed. My street has already become terribly crowded with cars and building materials being delivered.
I've been entertaining myself with sewing projects, a jigsaw puzzle, and new crafts. Making beach glass magnets, wrapping wire around beach glass and rocks, making pendants out of half marbles, and there's a supply of large rocks on the floor waiting for me to paint them up. Busy busy busy.....
Am heading to the casino Friday morning for Linda P's birthday lunch. I need to cut down my trips to that place. They're not paying me enough. I should say they're hardly ever paying me a thing! Yeah, I know. That's the gamble baby!
My brother has his first book on the market now. Cravenstone:Time Enhancers. Written under the name of Dage Corvish. Available on Amazon and Kindle. I read it and it's pretty darned good!
Well, I think I'll surprise Sammy with a walk down the alley and back. I'm way overdue from taking a daily walk. Story of my life.
Cartoon I saw on Facebook today that totally describes Sammy...
And here's my latest favorite about the buffoon...
