Sure is looking nice outside. Wayne came by yesterday and cut my lawn so my back yard looks way better than it usually does. Not too much on my chore list today but I did go out and put fresh nectar in the hummingbird feeders (had to clean them up first as they were looking pretty pathetic). I also filled the three bird baths and cleaned them up, as well. That's gonna' be the extent of my outdoor work today. My activities are dictated by what kind of mood my hip is in. Sure am looking forward to June 3rd when I can get a cortisone shot.
I loaded the dishwasher, had a light breakfast, played my three kinds of solitaire on my computer, and luckily, won all three right away so I didn't have to waste my morning away. I've unfortunately set myself this goal (if you can call it that) of having to win solitaire, spider solitaire, and freecell before I can go about other business. The solitaire game is the one that often keeps me seated way longer than I should.
I made a quick Safeway run this morning too. I bought this "already cooked chicken" at Costco a few days back and I can get several meals out of it. Last nights' meal was pieces cup up and thrown in a large salad. I don't usually get satisfied with just a salad for supper but l did last night. I sometimes ground the pieces up for sandwiches when I get down to the last of it. Tonight, however, I'm using some of it in enchiladas. Basically, just chicken, cheese, olives, onions in flour tortillas and covered with enchilada sauce. One of my favorite meals and I can get two or three dinners out of that.
I rearranged my sewing room yesterday and made it more user friendly. Anxious to get in there and creating masterpieces. I'm putting the back on a table runner today and starting the Monday square of a Sunbonnet Sue wall hanging I'm making.
This is Sunday's creation. Monday should be easier as it's Wash Day.
Tonight I will finish this cross stitch of Donald Duck. Just need to add the black outlines. It's just his head so it went quickly.
I watched an interesting documentary on Prime yesterday. Called Living Proof --about this young man who was diagnosed with MS and how him and his doctor dad went around the world looking for clues on a cure. Just drives me crazy how the pharmaceutical companies are greedy and working against the good of our health a lot of the time.
I also watched a series on Netflix called Dead to Me. It had quite the story twists. I finished up watching Breaking Bad and like the Sopranos, I miss it. Now I'm working on Dexter. Another show I've already watched but still find entertaining.
I picked up a container of Cool Whip this morning and think I'll make a coolwhip/yogurt pie with a graham cracker crust. I used to make them all the time but haven't in years. I'll end up eating the whole thing 'cause it's what I do.
Well, I'd better get myself going on the shoulder exercises I've decided to do daily. It's just too hard to navigate when you right hip makes you limp and the left shoulder won't let you do anything gracefully. Maybe I'll go take my blood pressure too. I can always use more aggravation in my life.
I'm taking that darn cuff to the doctor's office next week and if it reads high and her reading is normal, I'm sending it back!
I've got a big ole crossword puzzle book expected today but I kind of think it'll really be tomorrow since today's a holiday. We'll see. At any rate, I'm looking forward to its arrival. Next weekend I'm watching golf. Yep. It's an exciting life I lead.
Happy Birthday yesterday to my son-in-law, Andy, and Happy Birthday this Friday to my first grandchild, Catie.
