It's almost 4 pm as I sit here trying to catch up on blog writing. The day started out kind of bumpy. I woke up feeling like hell (nothing new there) and was very tired. Again, same oh...same oh...
I took a hot shower which usually lets my body know we're up and running but she just wasn't in the mood today. I did a little surfing online, played some solitaire, had a light breakfast, and still felt like I could go back to bed. So I did. Sort of. Took an hour nap in the recliner. Afternoon naps I'm familiar with but these mornings nod offs are not to my liking.
I forced myself to get up and get moving. Jen stopped in to pick up a couple items but she headed right back home as she was under the weather.
I have three quilt tops done and wanted to get them fixed up with batting and backing --a chore I really don't care for. But....I forced myself onward and finished one. They're all kinda small so that helps although the last one looks like it's almost twin size. As usual, my first one is full of puckers but I've gone beyond caring that my finished products are only gonna' get a C. If they'll hold up through a washing in a machine, that's good enough.
Tomorrow (if my back will cooperate) I'll work on the second one. I also want to get back to my little days of the week squares for Sunbonnet Sue. I finished Sunday but Monday needs a little embroider work before I can start on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, I'm working on a Pluto the dog cross stitch as I watch tv at night. My last movie (on Netflix I think or it could have been Hulu) was Cold in July starring Michael C. Hall (of Dexter which I'm also rewatching), Sam Shepard, and Don Johnson. Last night I couldn't settle in to stick with anything I clicked on. I suppose I was too tired to give any of them a chance.
I came across this little "book" I had made up years ago of books I wanted to read someday. It lists all the Pulitzer Prize winners starting with 1948. Following pages listed several books I'd read about over time that sounded interesting too. I plan on researching each to see exactly what the story line is and then checking to see if the PA library has them. My intentions to read more are hit and miss as I continue to be put to sleep as soon as I pick up a book. Annoying.
Well, seems like I was going to talk about something or another but I'm in the slump period part of my day and the brain in fuzzy as all get out. Here's a picture of my cousin, Diane Westergaard, who graduated from Chimacum in 1961. Not sure how long ago this photo was taken; I saw it on Facebook this week. I know one thing --I'd never be able to get on a horse unless it got down on it's knees. And even then...it's doubtful.
Gotta go hunt for some cute baby pictures of my first grandchild now. She turns 30 tomorrow.
