Moving Right Along

Yesterday was a yucky day for me as far as feeling well.  Have decided I'm not going to continue on the diuretic pill as they're just  too hard on me.  The constant peeing I can put up with but those night  cramps that last the following day aren't something I'm willing to tolerate. My fast on Sunday went pretty well although I did break it at 7 pm with a cup of cocoa.  Oh, how that cocoa tasted good!  I savored every sip. One thing about fasting is that you're more motivated afterwards (at least for a while anyhow) to watch yourself and what you eat the rest of the week.  I did halfway decent yesterday so we'll see if I can stay on track.

I'm cooking today.  And I hardly ever cook anymore. Must be because I have no comfort foods in the house.  I just made an applesauce bread with walnuts. For some reason it wouldn't come out of the pan nicely so I struggled with it.  Tastes good, though, and that's something to behold lately as my cooking spells have taken a nosedive.  Later this afternoon I'm whipping up these breakfast bars that you keep in the fridge and cut up like brownies. They have eggs, cheese, and spinach and I really adore them.  I'm also making this eggplant casserole for dinner. It's in my latest cookbook but I can't remember if I've made it before.  The directions are fairly easy but knowing me, I'll manage to screw it up somewhere along the way.  Oh wait!  I need to think positive.

I felt so poorly yesterday because my foot cramps continued to make my lower leg/ankle area ache.  Hurt to even touch.  I used the down time to sit and binge watch 'Alaska the last frontier' on Hulu. I could watch that show all day. And I did.  I wanted to watch golf but it looks like the big match doesn't begin until tomorrow and I'll have company then. At least for a couple day. Mary Gaboury is staying over so we can catch up.

I finished my day of the week Sunbonnet Sue squares and I may attempt to put them altogether as a wall hanging today. Got to see what material I have onhand.  I've been putting off cleaning and sorting my various material and this morning while the bread was cooking, I decided to get on the stick. Just hate that job.  I've got several piles separated by color and as soon as I finish this, I have to head to the back room where the bulk of the material is stored in several bins.  I wish I could figure out a nice neat way to store it all.  I have stacking bins in the sewing room for about five colors but once I start sewing, it manages to get pretty messy fast.

This is the days of the week one and following is the next one I want to try.  I like doing applique -- at least the kind you iron on.

Well, I guess that's it for now. I sure am happy when I wake up after getting a good nights' sleep. Sometimes those  are hit and miss.  Back to the material sorting. It's not going to go away.
