And the beat goes on

10:30 a.m. and I've been up and running since 7. Time to kick back and rest for a little while. I cleaned out the hummingbird feeder (so yucky!) and decided to hang it down in the yard away from the deck for a while. Damn bees keep hanging out and I've always wondered when the birds come in to feed, who is master of the nectar. Kind of think those bees are and that's annoying. Wasps.  I did spray where I knew their hideout was but I might have to spray again.
I know the birds have been looking for their feeder this morning as one just came in to see of the swan night light would accommodate them.
After taking a closeup shot of Sammy down near the gate, I noticed my barricade was moved a bit and "the gap" he escaped from before was slowly being exposed again.  He's a sneaky one.  I fixed it as there's no getting him back if he manages to go on an adventure.

When Jen and Wayne dropped him off on Wed, the garage door was open and while we were talking, he trotted his little butt right out the door and across the street to investigate the neighbor's yards.  Wayne was after him with the leash in hand and chased him from yard to yard because he was not minding! Once Wayne yelled, hef finally rolled over in submission.

Sometimes it's difficult tolerating his jumpy personality. Barks at everything. Even if my cell phone pings with a text message or a phone rings on tv.  Last night (at 9:45 when I'd gone to bed) some teens next door thought there was enough light to play basketball in the street. Sammy was beside himself hearing that ball and not being able to see what was going on.  I was in bed yelling SHUT UP!   hee hee   Thankfully, it got too dark to play so I was able to go to sleep.

My garage is slowly being cleaned out.  I gave away a ton of fabric yesterday. In fact I ended up just keeping one bin for myself.
I also gave away a box of craft junk, some plastic hangers, and misc sewing notions. A big bag full. Another lady took my blue plastic stacking shelves (only asked a dollar) and another little 3-drawer bin on wheels for $2.  I sold my loveseat and the a/c unit and all my jigsaw puzzles. Also the Port Townsend Monopoly game which I'll drop off in PT on the 28th. Left to sell is the PT Millionaire game and the Seattle Monopoly game.

Most items have been posted on the Clallam County share website or the buy-trade website. Wanted to get as much out of here as I could before the actual yard sale.  Which will probably take place at the end of the month or maybe even into August.  Still have to downsize the kitchen, the hall closet, and the garage -- which contains two large bins of Xmas decorations among a lot of other things.

I went out there this morning to try and tidy up a bit so it's easier to work. Giving away all the material freed up a lot of large bins so with my boxes, I'm sure I have more than enough to finish packing.

Joyce Lee came by (and bought my loveseat) and took a picture of me in the middle of the mess.
She's going to help me at the yard sale as she said she's an old pro at it.  So glad.

Jan Boutilier asked me if I had any old Del's Grocery photos as the Leader ran an article about what the place is going to be next and they mentioned the businesses that were there previously and didn't say a word about it being Del's. That's the trouble with the reporters not really digging up the history the way they should.  I dug around and sent her a couple. Here's a few in my files.

this aerial view shows Del's in 1954 when he hadn't yet built his house next door. I cropped it so you could see it better.  (click on photo to enlarge)

And last but not least -- Maddie sent me a couple pictures on my phone of her and Hunter in the desert in Arizona and another of her and her dad.  Jenni posted on FB pictures of Hunter at graduation and the awards he got.

He received "student of the course" 12 TIMES!  Smart little cookie.

Nothing much planned for the weekend outside of the usual "project".  And it was only nine days ago that I got on the waiting list for a one-bedroom apartment.  Keep your fingers crossed that my wait isn't several months long.
