The old bags at the church

I'm thinking I'll sleep good tonight. Mainly because last night was awful!  Toss and turn and my toes, ankles, and feet were sending me signals that they were in the mood  to cramp up.  I'd better start drinking a hell of a lot more water, especially on fasting days.  Oh dear! I'm in my slump period now (going on 4 pm) and the yawns are coming fast and furious.  Not napping this late in the day, though.

I kept the back door open a crack while I was gone on errands so Sammy could come in and out. Of course that meant flies and bees thought they were welcome too. I suspected that one of the buzzes I was hearing was a big ole bumble bee so I went out to the garage and retrieved this really cool present Andy gave me a few years back -- a fly swatter that stuns with an electric shock.

I left for the Methodist Church that I knew took clothes donations at 9 a.m. Thankfully, the office lady was there and helped me pack them out of my car.  Sure felt good to say goodbye to them.
From there I drove 5 miles across town to put my application in at this place called Highland Commons.  I knew they had a waiting list but I was anxious to try and secure an apt anyway. Much to my surprise, I qualified for low income and if and when I get a call, I think I'll pay around $564 or so for a one bedroom.
I know a guy there and am going over tomorrow or Friday to look his place over and get an idea of what I'm looking at and need to get rid of. The office manager said an opening could happen in a week or it could take a year.  I'm praying it's somewhere within the months range but of course, there's no way to predict.  Meanwhile I'm continuing to downsize like crazy.  I've got half a dozen boxes that I discovered in the garage with odds and ends that I could transfer to paper bags. That gives me a start until I can start accumulating them at grocery stores. If anybody wants to come over and look my stuff over (I'm gifting almost everything) BRING BOXES.  hee hee  I don't know if this drawing will show up but here's a floor plan I saw online.

I've really got my heart set on being able to get into this place.  You have your own kitchen to fix meals, a bath and shower, a community laundry, a library, and a gym.  They have parties on holidays in the common room and a special table set up where you can donate stuff you're trying to unload.
This place is 5 miles from here on the east side, up the hill a mile or so from McDonalds, Wendy's, Joanne's, and Rite Aid, among others.

Saw the surgeon in Sequim and he said with all the hardware in that particular shoulder (I had a complete reversal transplant which is a tad more than an ordinary operation) it's bound to happen that one of the pieces in there will sometimes pinch on tissue. Which is what has been happening and oh my, does it ever hurt.  No indication of when it's going to hit as it's always a surprise. Luckily, once I get my arm up over my head, I can make the pain go away.  Doc said it's just something I'm going to have to live with -- so I will!

Sue and Paul are coming over to load up my pots on the deck tomorrow and anything else outside that I can convince them they need.  I'm playing with the idea of taking EVERYTHING off all the walls and stacking them on the single bed (that will eventually go to Jenni's house)  I suspect this place will start to look a little bare once the walls are exposed.  I've got a ton of things accumulated in the back bedroom with a card table set up to help me wrap with bubble wrap and tissue paper, as needed.

Man, the weather sure was weird today. Muggy and then it would rain hard, and then it would quit. Jen said it was miserable in Ellensburg.
Took some frozen meatballs out of the freezer and think I'll fix up a very small pan of spaghetti with a salad on the side.  First, though, it's back to the rock painting. I need to finish up the nine giraffes I'm working on so I can clear the table.  Friday I go to the hospital to have some blood drawn and then my calendar is absolutely free until July 28th when I drive to Hadlock for a baby shower. Am I repeating myself? Maybe but it's all I got.  Four days after the shower, I have another doctor appt in Sequim, this time with a blood guy. He'd better not tell me I have blood cancer or I'm going to be plenty pissed off!

The entire month of August (outside of the 1st) is clear with no activities. Yep. I'm popular.
