IT'S CHRISTMAS EVE DAY! WHOO HOOOOOO

11 a.m. on a frosty December Thursday morning.  I have to keep looking at the calendar to figure out what day of the week it is.  Andy and Jake are upstairs playing lego and Mary is busy making her lists of what she has to do today. Poppy is following her or me around to see if we're going to do anything interesting.  I took a shower this morning. Was putting it off because I have a walk-in at the apartment and I had to put my leg way up to step into the tub at my bathroom here.  Another indication to me that I need to exercise. Like I need an indication!

I'll post pictures I took today and yak about each one. I've been posting on Facebook regularly so I'll have a record later of what I did each day.  I'm charging my camera now so I can take more tonight and tomorrow and Sunday. Not sure yet if Jen is coming Saturday or  Sunday to pick me up and take me back to my car.  Anyhow, these pictures won't be in any particular order but who cares.

This photo is probably kind of corny to post but I thought these plastic containers that Mary had onhand were neat. She made up a little take-out lunch for Audrey (Catie's sister) to take in the car. She was leaving here to head to Oregon and planned to camp out in a tent somewhere. I still can't get over how brave her and Catie both are to drive so far alone. Catie drove to California last year to visit Audrey and Audrey drove here from Utah to visit her. For two sisters who weren't raised together, they are incredibly close. Makes me so happy.

She's doing her clinicals now (in New Jersey) and is applying for residencies. She'll be done in May and will become a pediatrician.

I finally ventured up the staircase this morning. I don't do stairs well so I usually try to avoid them. Once I got up there, I saw all the neat things I wanted to take a picture of so I went back down to get my camera.  The top of the stairs is gated so Jake can have an area for his toys without Poppy eating them all!

Andy and Jake are sitting in Andy's office playing with the new legos he got for his birthday.
this swing can be replaced with other exercise pieces too so Jake always has something to mess with

His room seemed real cozy and he just got a new bed a few months back I think. It's a decent size.
this sign sits outside his bathroom
another view of the upstairs play area that has to be Poppy free
                                                                   The front porch

view of backyard and deck from Mary's bedroom

Poppy sits pretty much anywhere she wants to
                                                                   And here's the front door!

Not too much on the agenda today.  Mary is fixing salmon for dinner. Last night it was chicken tacos and oh, it felt so wonderful to eat really good food for a change.  We're going to go look at Christmas lights after it gets dark and we'll open up a tiny amount of presents. Not too much.

Christmas dinner will include Catie and Louie. They both had to work yesterday. She's at thriftbooks.com and he's in the seafood section of Safeway. Both in Kent.

I don't get over on this side of the water much. I think it's been a couple years since I visited at Mary and Andy's so I made sure I took lots of pictures.  We got caught in a horrible traffic jam coming over on Tuesday.  We didn't get here until 5 but I'm thankful it was only rain and NO SNOW!   The deck is plenty frosty in the mornings but I'm not venturing out there so I don't really care.  I think I am going to look around on Amazon for a pair of boots, though. My feet got sopping wet when I loaded my car in the rain and slush on Monday night.

I'm having a relaxing time. Mary doesn't let me do any housework so I pretty much sit on my butt. Which I like!  I've got golf on now and plan to do some crocheting. Also go a fabulous crossword puzzle book that is especially challenging but not horribly so.  Mary will help me later with my questions about problems  using my cell and my laptop. And I hear Jake is going to read to me later too.
All good.  Have a good Christmas.
