AND THE OLD LADY IS SNORING! Yep, nothing much going on around here today. I got up at 8:20 and felt like I needed a nap two hours later! But I held off until 1 or so. I hope that means I'll be able to stay awake later tonight. I've got my door open so maybe I'll see somebody passing by. One lady knocked on my door right before my nap wanting me to sign a get well card for the cook. He's out with a tumor in his bladder so that can't be too good.
I set up another puzzle. This one is 550 pieces of two kittens in a basket. (Yes, another boring blog)
I decided I needed to add some pictures so I put the blind to take another shot of the trees I watch on the other side of the courtyard to tell if the wind is blowing.
In so doing, I managed to tip over my Christmas tree sitting in the jar of popcorn. All my ornaments fell off so I replaced them back to the window sill.My neighbor was cleaning out Christmas decos yesterday and gave me a bunch of really super cute ornaments that I think were made out of clay. Or was it flour? At any rate, I'm going to gift some of them when I go around to hand out little gifts. (painted rocks and ornaments that I've cross stitched) I'm going to put some on the shelves by the doors here in the building but others I'll take out to friends in town.Tomorrow I'll have my recertification meeting with the manager. You have to do it once a year to prove you're still poor although I thought mine would be in March since that's the month I moved in. Whatever. My sister-in-law is coming by on Thursday so we can try again to get her driver's license online. Another friend told me it worked for her so I'm hoping we'll be more successful this time.I'm reading two books right now. The Winner by David Baldacci and The Family by Kitty Kelley. Neither has "grabbed" me yet but I'll give them more time. Lately, (like the last few years) I've had a hard time staying involved with a book. My patience level continues to dip. I'm thinking I might look into getting a couple audio books from the library to see if that won't help me drop off at night. That always used to work like a charm and I certainly seem to need something more than melatonin. I hear you can go to the library door and they'll bring you what you want. Now that I think about it, though, I haven't got my library card yet. Things closed up before I could get up there and apply for one.
I'm going to start posting one old picture a day on my Facebook page and talk about it a little. I've got a ton of them on my FB page called Jefferson County Washington of Yesterday so I have plenty to pull from. I'm also going to revisit ancestry.com and see if I can dig up any more data on my family lines. The one line giving me the most trouble is Downs. My grandpa Gene's mom was Jane Downs from Delaware and I haven't been able to establish for sure exactly who the Downs were.
Last night I watched season six of Bosch. (On Amazon Prime) The next season won't be out until 2021 so I'll be hunting around tonight for something new. Sunday night I watched Alaska, the last frontier for two hours. That and Life Below Zero I could watch all the time but the commercials get to you after a while.
Some old guy called me (right before my nap) and it was the craziest conversation. The phone said "No Caller ID" and my spam calls usually say "Scam Likely" so I answered it.
Me: hello
HIM: Who is this?
ME: Well, you called me, I didn't call you.
HIM: You did call me.
No I didn't.
My phone says you called at 8 a.m. It says Blankenship.
Well, it wasn't me. I didn't get up until 8:20. What's the first name?
HIM: Joyce
ME: well, that's odd. What's your name?
HIM: Do you have the police there?
ME: The police? Why would I?
HIM: Do you have a policeman living with you?
ME: Not that I know of. Who is this
CLICK.
Well, dinner should be showing up within the hour. Today it's cole slaw, finger steaks (whatever that is), french fries, garlic bread, and brownie ala mode.
Meanwhile, dinner arrived but no french fries. Mashed potatoes and gravy instead (which I like) but man, could they use lessons on making food look pleasing. This looks like dog poop.
Now to try and figure out how to load a video. I don't know why I'm finding it so hard. I used to do it and it was easy. Hate my memory these days.
