It's 10:30 a.m. and I've been up since 6:45. I've managed to finish all but one task on my to-do list. My plan is to sew two buttons on my new hat to hold the ties of my face mask so I'm not having to try and move the hat rim up to do it underneath. I saw them on Amazon and they wanted $40 for hats with buttons. I figure I can do that a lot cheaper. Especially since the neighbor gave me some old buttons yesterday. I had been thinking about this pretty box she gave me for Christmas with a cup in it and how I really wanted to display it as it's so neat looking. I figured using it for a button box was the perfect thing.
One of my to-dos today was to mop the kitchen. It's a small area and that job goes quickly. Usually only gets done when I stick to it because I've spilled something on my way to the table. I picked up my little mop at the Dollar Tree and while it was working fine, I guess I'm going to have to buy another. When I finished mopping, I put it between the fridge and the counter with the broom. I had been storing my ironing board there but it didn't satisfy me after a week or so and I put it back where I originally had it. Anyhow, that damn mop fell sideways behind the fridge and no amount of trying to retrieve it with my grabber is going to work. How I can have so many mishaps in such a small apartment puzzles me.This picture doesn't show the problem that well but I'm posting it anyhow. If I thought I could pull the refrigerator out, I would but I know I can't do it by myself and I don't dare ask the maintenance guy because he already had to pull out my stove for me when one of my salt and pepper knickknacks fell behind and I WANTED THEM BACK!This is the jigsaw puzzle I'm working on now.
As often happens at the first of a new year, I decided to try and make more room in here. It's what I do. I discovered I had 19 puzzles in the closet and I could use that space so I transferred them to my clothes closet in the bedroom.
In order to do that, though, I had to stand on a step stool and stack my three Xmas deco boxes on the right. It's really hard for me to do anything over my head as my left shoulder is weak. My right shoulder is the one I had replaced and while I can do more with it, I still freezes up if I move it a certain way leaving me yelping in pain. And it's been SIX YEARS since the operation. I figure this is something I'm just going to have to tolerate until I kick the bucket. It was a little scary and kind of tricky getting those boxes stacked but I won't need them for a year.I did a little rearranging of knickknacks and books earlier. When I returned from Renton, I found some flowers a neighbor down the hall had placed outside my door. They're still going strong.
I ate breakfast, washed dishes, oiled the bathroom medicine cabinet door as its squeaking was annoying and got out all my masks to see if Trish down the hall wants any. I have over a dozen but some are easier to wear than others. I plan on watching the football game at one and working on my crocheting and cross stitch. Will also make reminder lists for myself in my new notebook I got for Christmas.
My cousin Linda is up and walking in the hospital in Louisville and her daughter says she feels 100% better. So glad to hear that. My goal for today is to walk the hall at least a couple times. I'll have to use my walker but that's okay. I pass others who are doing the same and I fit right in.I filled "MY LIST" on Amazon Prime yesterday with new things I want to try out. A lot of the time they end up getting deleted right away but you can often land on good stuff too. I watched Animal Miracles and was MUCH IMPRESSED with it. Glad there are seasons too. I've also discovered Top Gear. I never thought I would find such a show entertaining but the guys on it are hilarious.
And that's it so far today. Gonna' play some bingo and solitaire online and then work a bit on my puzzle as I await the Seahawks. Happy 98th to my Daddy.
