Day Two of 2021

So what did I do for New Year's Eve?  Can't think of much. The activity director released some balloons with candles for us to make a new year wish on.  I took a couple shots from my window.

New Years Day I made a door draft snake using popcorn and rice for filler.

I'm going to start another quilt pretty soon. Have to feel halfway energetic and that hasn't been happening. I've got a doctor appt. on Jan. 11th to get some bloodwork done and have the ugly rashes on my lower legs diagnosed.  I really need to quit taking pictures of body parts that are acting up as they look extra horrid close up on my computer screen.

Worried about my cousin Linda in Kentucky. I called her on her birthday (Dec. 30) when she turned 76 and she said she had fallen out of bed the previous night and hit her head on the nightstand. The next day her daughter posed on facebook that she was in the hospital with pneumonia, UTI, and irregular heart beat.  I hope she's on the mend.

My first purchase of 2021 was this pretty knit hat. Used the Amazon gift card I got from my grandson.
It's got a nice lining too. I took a picture of myself wearing it but I looked like I usually do and it wasn't pretty. Oh well, I'm getting used to that.
Decided to take a couple pictures of my neighbor's doorway. She's the character on the floor. Well, really she's the character of the whole building. Strong Catholic.

I called up Barbara Shaw to see if she wanted to get out for some fresh air. It's been raining and blowing like the dickens for days but I still needed some new pictures. We drove thru McDonald's and got chicken sandwiches and fries too. That was fun.  We rode around here and there looking to see what we could see. I took one picture of her sitting in my car but it came out kind of dark.
Here's the rest of the photos I took as we explored the streets of Port Townsend.
A tree in Towne Point that continues to hold onto its apples.
                                                             Ferry docking downtown
City dock nearby. The water was rough but much calmer when we got out to North Beach
A herd of deer taking their coffee break under a tree on Center Road. Or was it Cedar. I forget.
Kuhn Street on the way to North Beach
A flock of geese in a field on the way to North Beach
                                                            Close-up of geese.
Driftwood camp made by someone visiting the beach
Two dogs frolicking with their master at Point Hudson Beach

I wrote the first chapter of my STORY WORTH book that I got for Christmas. The topic I chose was Jobs I've had. And I just now thought of one I forgot to include. Oh well, it wasn't that great a job anyhow.  I'm going to have to try and cut my words down some, though, as this chapter was 1250 words. All the chapters will be put in a book for me at the end of the year but you can only have 481 pages. I'll have to figure that out later and see how much I can rattle on and on.

Guess I'll take a quick little chair nap before dinner is delivered.  Today is carrot salad, Italian sausage w/peppers, steamed rice, grapes, and bread pudding.  Always interesting to see what actually shows up on the plates delivered. The person who writes the menus is quite creative sometimes.

Tomorrow is my dad's birthday. He would have been 98.  The day after that would have been my 57th wedding anniversary. Gees!  I feel old.  Oh wait a minute!  I am old!

Happy New Year!
