It's 6:12 pm as I sit here wondering what I might find on tv worth watching tonight. I had the news on for about 3 minutes and decided I was absolutely not going to listen to another repeat story about all the various problems going on around the country. Covid shots, cops shooting blacks, people killing people, politicians fighting among themselves, etc. etc. I've got 'All Creatures Great and Small' on now and even though I've seen all the episodes, I can easily watch them again because they don't rile me up.
I babysat my sister's dog, Lucy, today while Janie went to two medical appts. She was quite the hit of the hallways here. Little dogs are always popular.
I went to Safeway early as I want to do some baking this week. I'm going to whip up some bran muffins tomorrow and today it was breakfast spinach bars. They were terrific. I shared with three people.I took a two-hour nap this afternoon. Somedays I just wake up tired and worn out. I managed to sew one quilt square later in the day. I have various material pieces set out by color and pressed them so I can make various squares at my leisure. I picked an easy one to start called Stepping Stones.
I've been trying to figure out how to make my blogs more interesting when I go for days or even weeks without going anywhere or doing anything outside of my usual hobbies or rides around town. I came
across two books I had written in 2002 and 2010. Both are 8-1/2X11 and probably only of interest to my family. Well, not all of my family but some. Both books were typed on my computer but never saved. At least I can't find them anywhere. I suppose they could be on a disc somewhere but this laptop won't accept discs so they're no good to me unless I bring home my regular PC from Jenni's house. Which I would do except I'm strapped for space.
Anyhow, I wanted to get these books on a USB stick or in my documents on my laptop but the only way to do that is to retype them. As I've looked back over them, they are pretty interesting so I thought maybe I'll type them and share on m blog as I go along. I'll be more apt to stick with the project that way. The 2002 book has 65 pages single spaced and is called "Some of my family with some of their thoughts and memories." Not all my relatives were willing to participate as I sent out emails every few days or so asking a certain question and I'm thankful that I got some of them down on paper. If for no other reason, family history when we're all dead and buried. Counting me, there are 19 people sharing their thoughts.
My 2010 book is called "88 memories & thoughts by Joyce Blankenship." I know...my titles are kind of lame. Maybe I'll change them as I get going on a rewrite. I'll start tomorrow on the relatives book.
When I decided to change doctors last February (very displeased with the guy I had) I was able to find a female doctor right down the street. Only problem was, she couldn't get me in until the end of April. I was desperate to find someone so I figured I'd sit it out and wait. Last week I get a call and the doctor is going to be out for the month of May so my appt is set back to June 4th. I called over a dozen other doctors and either they weren't taking new patients or they were booked until Aug, Sept. or Oct. I even called the P.A. I had in Sequim and since I had signed on with another doctor, they considered me NEW if I wanted to see her again. Which is absolutely stupid! And then I was informed she was booked until November. Well, forget that! The only doctor who could see me within two weeks was in Quilcene but who wants to drive to Quilcene, especially in winter? Not me!
I can hang on. Poor ole body has been hurting in one spot or another for a good year and if I have to use my walker more frequently, then so be it. I am a little uneasy about the neuropathy I'm dealing with now, however. It was in my toes (once I went to bed at night) but now both hands are having nerve issues. Tryng to figure it out on Google is just too hard as it can be any number of things.
Well, I could write about my problem with my smoke alarm going off too easily but I'm too tired to write about it. Got a few suggestions from the fire chief when I called to ask about it. Think I'll go get my jammies on now and sit down with my feet up.
