Who was your best friend growing up?
Lorraine: In the 7th grade, it was a girl named
Jean but I can’t remember her last name.
John: Lyle Fink and Blair Miller
Marcella: Isabelle Evans
Arlie: Brian Savage
Denny: Up through 8th grade, it was Joe Nott.
After that, Dick Freitas and Harold Harvey. After school, Sterling Huntingford
Joyce: Living next door for most of our childhood, it was
my cousin, Linda. In elementary school and beyond, it was Mary Pearce, Carol
Rustad, Doris LaChance, Ruth Stapf, Sharon Sofie, Jean Tyler.
Dale: Charlie Freitas
Janie: Barbara Hansen. Her folks owned the roller rink and
we spent Wednesday night and weekends there. We sang songs. Sang at high school
assemblies and the county fair.
Sue S: Kathy Hoglund. She was a neighbor when we were
younger. Then she moved to her new house on Walker Street. We also were
roommates at Peninsula College for our first year. I really admired her. She
had skipped a grade in school and excelled in many areas. She loved to cross
stitch and sew. She also had the most beautiful long red hair I have ever seen.
We lost touch after her first year at college.
Marlee: Linda Mills when we lived in Tacoma. In high school,
I met Cheryl Underwood in the 9th grade and we were the best friends
till I married Jeff –she didn’t like him. My junior year was Tracy Thompson and
later as a young mom, it was Beth Holan. She moved to Texas and we’re email
friends now.
Cindy: June Carstetter Boltz when I was growing up and she
still is. Without her, I am only half of myself. I need her.

Sue W: Cindy Brown
Mary: Zena Aragon till I was six. Muriel LaFrancis in grade
school. Candi Lopeman from junior high until now. And my mother.
What is your favorite food, favorite music, favorite movie, favorite flower?
Lorraine: A nice steak, easy listening music, flower is
delphinium.
John: Turkey and dressing, good gospel music, Gary Cooper
and Randolph Scott movies, and fav. Flower is carnation.
Marcella: A good roast beef dinner, anything that isn’t
rock music; rhodys and lilacs are my favorite flower.

Arlie: Favorite food is country fried stead. I like elevator music with a little country tossed in. Favorite movie is African Queen and favorite flower is the orchid.
Denny: Favorite foods are Mexican, Chinese, Japanese, Thai, Indian and red neck (roast beef with potatoes and gravy) The top, though, would be seafood and a Tony Roma steak. I enjoy elevator music but mostly listen to gospel. Favorite movies include Hopscotch, Quigley Down Under, Crocodile Dundee. Favorite flower is pansy.
Joyce: I love anything with potatoes. Like enchiladas too and most desserts. Music is old country and favorite song is Theme from a summer place. Favorite movies include Godfather I & II, American Graffiti, Music Man, Deliverance, Midnight Cowboy, Forrest Gump, The Color Purple, Beaches, A Summer Place. Favorite flowers: tulips, sweet peas, pansies
Dale: No favorite food. Favorite movie is Beetle Juice, Flowers include red and pink roses.
Janie: Favorite food: Chinese. Favorite song: Theme from a summer place. Favorite movie: The Jazz Singer. Favorite flower: geranium
Sue S: Favorite food is fish. Favorite music is country and fav song is Raindrops keep falling on my head. Favorite movie is Private Benjamin. My favorite flowers to receive are pink roses and orchids. My favorite garden flowers are blue delphiniums (mom grew the best), zinnias and foxgloves (which my dad loved to grow).
Marlee: Favorite food is pizza. Fav music: Enya-Paint the sky with stars. Favorite movie: Forever Young. Favorite flower: daisy
Cindy: My favorite food/meal would be my mother’s fried chicken (with skin), whipped potatoes, green salad, and Bisquick biscuits with jam. Favorite song is Follow Me by Unkle Kracker. I also like Shaggy’s song “It wasn’t me” and “Angel.” My all time favorite is Johnny Rivers. I was raised on his music. My favorite movie is Sarah, plain and Tall and my favorite flower is sweet William. It was my dad’s favorite so I made it mine too.
Bill:
I love fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn. Movie: Somewhere in Time with
Christopher Reeve. Music: Southern gospel.
Flower: purple iris.
Sue W: Mexican and Chinese food. Music: classic rock with Bob Seger, Moody Blues, Allman Bros, the Band, Pink Floyd. Pretty much favor music before 1980. Favorite movie is a 1924 silent called Greed. Favorite flower is gladiola.
Mary:
Favorite food: anything Thai..and apple pie.
Fav music: Motown. Favorite movie: Shawshank Redemption, Favorite flower:
tulip.
