I didn't think I had that much to do in the way of housework but once you really stop and look at things, you realize there is plenty waiting for you. I washed a load of laundry in the laundry room down the hall and around the corner. Further to walk to but the machines are cheaper and the dryer works better than the one closest to my apartment. Then I decided to hand wash my support socks. Ha! That was sure a job I never expected to be doing in my later years. Oh well, I'm doing all kinds of stuff I wouldn't normally be doing. Such is life.
Twin grandchildren turned 22 today so I had to post pictures on Facebook of how they've grown. Brings me pleasure to do such tasks. Got a new cousin recently. Jenner over in Gig Harbor. Grandchild of my 2nd cousin, Cindy. I have a small quilt in process so I decided to try and get it finished up today or tomorrow so I can mail it off. The material (I think it's flannel?) had some various yellow stains on it. It's never been used material so I don't really know what the stains are. At any rate, I threw them in the washer and used Shout to try and see if they'd disappear. Even if they don't I'll use the material as there's quite a bit of it and I'm sure the baby won't notice or care. haha

I took one of the screens out of the living room window to wash in the shower and I tried to wash the outside of the window as best I could from the inside. Even if I only get a little of it, I'm sure it will look better than it did. I unclogged the toilet and cleaned the shower. Not sure why the toilet isn't flushing as well as it should. Old pipes I suppose. We'll see if my cranking of the plunger improves it any.
I worked my daily crossword online and solved the Wordle. I usually always get Wordle and that gives me satisfaction. Finished a small counted cross stitch design while watching tv last night. It's an ostrich if you can't tell. I don't know why her mouth looks so weird.
Two of the tv shows I've been watching (one on Hulu and the other on Apple TV) have both lost their appeal. Jeff Bridges in The Old Man was really good for the first couple of episodes and then it went downhill. I went on IMDB to see if anybody else thought so and I read several comments of people saying the exact same thing. The other show (Tehran) had me on the edge of my seat for several nights but then (and this seems to happen often with me) all of a sudden I just lost interest in the characters. Maybe I'm too impatient.
Went over to my brother's for dinner yesterday. Brought home a piece of his apple/peach pie for later. Not much on my agenda today. Tomorrow either but I will be dog sitting Lola for a woman down the hall tomorrow while she goes to Chimacum to play bridge.
Mary and Andy left for the ocean today. Mary opted to NOT ride the ATVs they rented as she is having some kind of pain in her head. She went to ER but they think it might be residual from her surgery that has moved and created the soft tissue. She goes back in a week to have the neurosurgeon take another look.
I woke up with another bout of IBS. I'm keeping a diary record of it to see if I can figure out what is triggering it. Might be food. Might not be. Does make for a depressing day at any rate as I can't venture out. So far this month I've had three episodes. Must be something I'm eating but who knows. Could just be old innards too!
Went to check my material in the washer and those yellow stains didn't come out. Oh well, at least I know the material has been laundered. Yardage is way too expensive these days to just discard it. I have managed to get my supply of material reduced so I know I'm making progress, slow but sure. Once I finish this quilt, I want to start work using these fat quarters I was given. My plan is to make some quilt design wall hangings for gifts. Not big ones. Figure they might turn out better if I keep the project smaller.
I sent for two things from Amazon that should arrive today or tomorrow. One is a pillow wedge that you put under your low back in bed. Supposed to train the spine to get back where it belongs. Reviews were good but we'll see. The other also had good reviews. It's a thingie you put in your shoe tips to help metarsalgia. Got my fingers crossed on that one.
Paid my license tabs a few days ago. That puts me in a rotten mood every single year. Whatever happened to our $30 tabs we were supposed to get. Saturday I got my car insurance statement and that one irritates me too. Even though I probably pay less than a lot of people. $314 every six months hurts when you don't go anywhere except Sequim and Port Angeles. And even then, the trips are far apart.
Here's two pictures I saw on Facebook that caught my interest....
a quadruple rainbow and a library for dogs.
Guess I'll go check the dryer now and get busy cutting out the border and the backing for the quilt. I am going to write a blog piece later about my Uncle Jim's house on 19th street. Idea came to me while I was dropping off to sleep the other night.
