I planned on taking a step back from sewing for a while but I guess I actually enjoy sewing --even though it aggravates me a lot of the time. A lady who was doing the paperwork at the fair yesterday said: "Oh this is pretty. Did you have fun making it?" I told her "I don't know; I did do a lot of cussing through the whole project."
I made another quilt today but am too tired to finish up so that will be on my to-do list tomorrow.
I was glad I went down to the laundry room (to use the large table) when I did because there were some free donations up for grabs and I took everything except the senior diapers. I suppose I'll be taking those one day too. Anyhow, I got a small sack of cherries, two bananas, and two little lotions. Had to toss a few of the cherries but most were fine--and I do love cherries! I may make the bananas into cookies. I have a super recipe. Or not. Banana bread is much easier.I went back to sleep at 6 a.m. this morning and stayed put until 8. That's when the dreams seem to come. I guess. Was really interesting too. Mary Gaboury and I were traveling and her husband was in the backseat. We were trying to get home having left Vancouver, WA. My car was filthy on the outside from all the wrong roads we took. Mary was driving but eventually I took over. The countryside was kind of like Amish country and we ended up talking to several people along the way trying to find the right road. This whole road trip seemed to go on and on. We even stopped for gas and to eat. Weird.
I finished another jigsaw puzzle this morning. It was only 300 pieces and the pieces were quite large. Probably intended for a kid but I still found it challenging. haha
I got a book from thriftbooks.com yesterday. Looks brand new and very easy to read too. My cousin told me about the fodmap diet so I wanted to read up on it because I suffer from IBS now and again. I probably won't follow everything it suggests but I can certainly get started on altering some changes.I'm going over to Judi Robbins' apt on Thursday to get my hair cut. Hopefully, I won't look quite as bad as I always end up looking when I decide I'm going to let my hair grow. I ALWAYS give up and call Judi to chop it off. Too hot to wear wigs but I'll keep them in reserve. Here's a picture taken at the Elks a few years back of members of the class of '62. Judi is on the left. We've been pals since high school. My daughter Mary went to this beach down in Vancouver with her friend, Shari Glessing and Jake apparently had a ball. She said this beach is now their favorite.
This is Frenchman's Bar on the Columbia River
Looking forward to attending the fair on Friday. My daughter, Jenni, has decided to drive down from Port Angeles to go with me (and my sister and Barbara Shaw) so we'll have a good time. Jen is always good for laughs.
I started watching this series on Netflix last night called Lost in Space. I don't usually go in for those type but it had good reviews. I did enjoy the first episode but not sure if I'll continue. I seem to lose interest so quickly these days. Unless it's survivor shows or adventures in Alaska.
Well, I just thought of another book I want to reread so I guess I'll go see if thriftbooks has it. Sacajawea.
