It's been a week now that I've been suffering with some kind of ache on my bottom or at the top of my leg. Aggravating as hell that nothing is visible -- and believe me -- trying to look at that particular body part with a mirror requires some skill. Ha! Last night I had one of my bright ideas and thought I'd spread some cream back and down there that is suppose to help pain. Kind of like Bengay and I figured the warm soothing ointment would only help. Nope. BIG MISTAKE! Set my damn butt on fire! Lordy! I ran to the sink and started washing it off and then applying cold wash rags. How could I be so dumb?! I went back to bed and laid there with heat radiating. Not the brightest thing I've ever come up with. If the doctor says it's not sciatica but probably bruising then it must have happened on that exercise bike as that's the only thing I can think of outside of that fall I took off the chair (but that fall was after this pain had already been there).I've come to accept that this body is going to hurt from here until the day I'm cremated. Not especially thrilled with this but it could be worse. There's always THAT!
My Port Townsend street map of my childhood neighborhood in jigsaw puzzle form is sitting on the card table next to me and I'm hoping maybe I can sit down and make some progress on it this week. It's only 400 pieces but dang, this puzzle is difficult.
Not sure when UPS delivered my latest Amazon package but noticed it on the front porch when I went outside to mail a couple of cards this morning. I had ordered a couple of rubber tips hoping to use two walking sticks for walking since the exercise bike has been removed to the garage.
I made a 'mug cake' yesterday but decided to pour the batter into a small paper bread pan I had received for Christmas instead of using coffee cups. As usual, I let it cook too long in the microwave so it came out a tad tough but I've never seen a piece of cake yet that I can't get my mouth around. Ha Ha This one had marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate chips in it. Tasty but then how could it not be with those ingredients.
Pictures I saw on Facebook and liked included these two Port Townsend photos and one I think is Sequim from the old days.
A few weeks back I got a chain letter in the mail asking me to send 2 purple 6" squares of material to four people. I think it was four. Anyhow, I was suppose to get a ton of squares back so I could make a friendship quilt. They never arrived although I got 4 or 6 I believe. Anyhow, I decided I have enough purple material onhand to make a small quilt and I got four rows sewn together yesterday. Will try to half a dozen more rows connected this afternoon.
I had some material with really cute dogs on it so I opted to use them for the corners. I think it's gonna be kind of pretty.
Didn't make it into PT on Saturday for Clarie Cook's memorial service at the Elks. Just too uncomfortable to sit in the car that long. Am going to try and make another funeral this coming Saturday, however. It will be graveside only at the Chimacum Cemetery for Dan Pinneo. Too many folks I know are passing and it always makes you stop and remember that we're only here for a certain amount of time. I know it's just a part of life but it is sombering when you stop and really think and remember all those friends that have gone before you.
Saw this photo on Kelly Ronnie's Facebook page (Susie Bishop Bara's daughter) of Pedro Bara and Rob Cook at a restaurant after Clarie's service, I suppose. Haven't seen Rob in several years.
Well, the mailman just delivered my new Roku remote so guess I'll play around with it and see which tv I want to hook it up to. Either the sewing room or my bedroom ought to do the trick.
