I drove downtown this morning to get my mammogram. Those digital ones are a lot easier on the ole boobs. Set up an appt for tomorrow afternoon to get a bone density as I haven't had one since 2011.
Stopped by the Ben Franklin Variety Store on the way home (just like the oldtime 5&10 cent stores) and picked up three yards of purple material to border my latest quilt.
An hour later I picked up Hunter at the high school and he came by and set up my Roku stick for the tv in my sewing room. Going to be handy to have Youtube available while sewing, not to mention Netflix, the radio stations I like, and Pandora music.
I made a one-crust apple pie later this afternoon and since I didn't feel like cooking, I popped a fozen pizza in the oven for supper, along with a tossed salad I had already made in the fridge. Didn't take a nap today but since I didn't sleep well last night, I'm hoping I'll be out like a light when I hit the sack tonight.
Thursday morning I'll be getting up at 4:20 a.m. to drive Jenni to an early Bainbridge Island ferry. She has a 9 a.m. appt that may last for hours so she'll take the shuttle bus afterwards to the casino and friends will pick her up there.
I think I'm going to make an ophthalmologist appointment in February. Been putting it off for too long and my doctor thinks a lid lift might help the problem I'm having with the sides of my eye slits being sore all the time. We'll see.... am also overdue for getting a complete body check at the dermatologist. Been many years and I'll probably have to go to Silverdale or Poulsbo for it. Sequim doctors always seem to have a long waiting list. Again...we'll see. I'm terribly lazy about making medical appointments. Just don't relish going through the rigamarole.
The political arena continues to give me a headache. I try to tune out any and all chatter about Donald Trump. He's such an ass and I can't understand why he has such a following. He's so obviously evil. A mean man. A spoiled man. A bully. And he's crude. Terribly rude and crude. And I won't even begin to discuss that silly silly mouthy broad - Sarah Palin. What a joke!
I like Hillary and I kind of like Bernie Sanders too. I'll vote for Hillary, though. On the republican side, I can't stand Ted Cruz and Jeb Bush doesn't seem to have much going for him either. Rand Paul doesn't impress me much and while I kind of like Rubio, I have my reservations about him. Same with Christie. I really liked him a lot BEFORE the bridge incident. Whether or not he was behind it remains to be seen but I think most folks think he knew about it. I don't know much about Bloomberg but I suppose we'll learn if he throws his hat in the ring.
Sorry to hear ole Abe Vigoda passed on. I really liked him a lot in The Godfather. Liked all the actors in those two movies. Same with The Sopranos. I do love my mafia flicks. Last night I watched this documentary about Don Rickles' rise to fame. Fascinating stuff. Very entertaining and I laughed out loud several times. I've always enjoyed his humor. Other comedians I love include Steve Martin, Jerry Seinfeld, Louis CK, Chris Rock, and Billy Crystal. Comedian favorites of yesterday that I was especially fond of include Jack Benny, Jackie Gleason, and Don Knotts. I never thought Bob Hope was all that great. Or Milton Berle. Or Johnny Carson. Never could stand Dave Letterman either.
I did a comedy stand-up routine once. At the Jefferson County Fair when they had a talent show. I did a monologue that I wrote about learning how to smoke a cigarette. I don't remember much about it but I'm sure it was stupid. Funny thing is, though, I came in second and won $15! Never could understand that. Especially since Gail Davies (now a country star in Nashville) was entered with her two brothers. They were fabulous. Wonder who the judges were. First place went to Don Waters (from my class) and George Cadero (two grades ahead of me). They played guitars. Can't remember if they sang. I'll have to ask George. He's one of my Facebook friends. Third place went to Dianna Padia who did a tap dance. Funny the things you remember.
Wheel of Fortune just came on so guess I'll retire to the recliner and hope they call my number at the end of the show. Heaven knows I could use that $5000. First, though, here's some old PT pictures I love.
