But I stayed the course. Once I was out there, I wanted to finish up what errands I went on. Picked up half a dozen audio books at the library to keep me entertained while I sew the next few days. Also bought about $8 worth of pansies at Walmart. I haven't been too enthused about planting but whenever springs creeps up and the sun starts to shine, I change my mind. Don't intend on planting much, though, as I'm limited to the skudsy looking pots I have on hand. And it's too expensive! I've always loved pansies so I put some in three pots and will call it good.
I also broke down and bought a small bag of bird seed. If the pig birds don't come around, I'll keep the feeder full for the ones I like. Will also watch for the return of the hummingbirds.
I don't know why I get it into my head to toil in the yard with heavy pots when my back is screaming for me to sit down and take a load off. My way of fighting back, I guess. It about killed me to get these pulled to the edge of the deck, weed them, and tug the hose around the house to give them a drink. I kept telling myself ....just a little every day....
I wish I had had my camera with me this morning as the mountain views were spectacular. Maybe I'll head out tomorrow morning and see if they're still giving a good photo opp.
The Looking Back picture in the Leader today looked like Mary and Dave Gaboury's old place on Taylor Street. I had a print made up so I can show it to Mary to see if she agrees.
Mary finished my taxes for me today and I'm getting $200 back. I can use it too. Thank you Mary!
Had to laugh at a story she told me in an email this morning....
Shari sent me a box of her cookies and some gift cards yesterday -- for doing her taxes. No, that's not a hint - don't do anything. Anyway - I LOVE her sugar cookies, as do Jake and Andy. We were all thrilled! Last night I handed a cookie to Jake and told him to bring it to daddy (he had already had one). While walking the cookie over to Andy, he took a bite out of it. Andy asked Jake "hey! what happened to my cookie? there's a bite out of it!" Jake stood there laughing, threw his hands in the air as if to mimic "I don't know." He's only two! Love his humor.
I've been working on this crocheted afghan using up odds and ends of yarn but for some reason (and this has happened plenty of times to me) it ends up with crooked sides. I start out with the width I want and after a while, it's becoming harder and harder to finish a row. I'm so disgusted with it. Can't even give it away now so I guess I'll have to use it for a car blanket. Such a shame too as it's really pretty.
Well, I'd better get off of here now. I'm getting sleepy.
