Goofing off this Thursday morning

My intention was to get right into the sewing room and get busy but I procrastinated and now it's almost noon.  But who cares? I'm retired.  I drove over to Jenni's to drop off a carton of ice cream I bought yesterday and then decided one bowl was enough.  She's cleaning out and gave me two towels, some material, and a couple sheets I think I can use for quilting purposes.

Wanted to get some pictures of the mountains as they were magnificent yesterday (when I didn't have my camera). Clouds got in the way this morning so I drove around and took other photos.  A cemetery down the street, a view from the cemetery (that I wish I had from my window), a boat in the harbor downtown and the staircase near the health store.  Appropriate location I suppose.  I'm never climb the stairs and I only shop at the health store when I'm trying new health options for whatever is ailing me at the time.  Too expensive to make it a regular stop.

I was telling Jenni about the phone call Mary and I had over Jake's latest episode. Seems he got his leg caught in the slats of the crib and the nanny could not free him. She called Mary asking what to do (as Jake screamed in the background) and Mary had her cut off his pants, grease his leg and whoosh..out he came.  She talked to him on the phone video camera and asked him through his sobs if a cookie would help.  "sob, sob. sob, cookie...."  and all was better.  Ha Ha

Jenni reminded me of an episode with Maddie when I was babysitting on a regular basis.  Maddie was carrying a little cup of cheerios and accidently tipped the whole thing over while walking.  Jenni was already to hear "Oh dear" (because that's what she always said and the kids were imitating everything they heard.)   In dismay, Maddie blurts out "oh shit!" and Jenni reminds herself to have a talk with gramma about her language.  ha ha  I think I'll post this on Facebook. Makes me laugh.

Watched "Trumbo" on pay-for-view last night with Bryan Cranston.  Excellent flick!  I may watch Steve Jobs tonight.

Three pictures I saw on Facebook this week that I especially liked....

Marlyn, married to my cousin, Bob Walker
A Wash. state ferry and "the mountain"
Port Townsend as scene from the bay

Must get busy now.  I've got half a dozen audio books to choose from.  Picked up Tale of Two Cities to resume.  It was required reading in Maddie's English class and while she said it was the worst book she's ever had to read, she did tell me that it got much better and she actually liked it. Especially the ending. Now I've got to listen to it and see what that's about.  Maybe I'll look around and see if it's available in movie format.
