Mothers Day Weekend

Spent Saturday preparing dishes for Sunday's dinner.  It was hard as my shoulder didn't want to participate.  Did everything in baby steps.  Also decided I'd had just about enough of this nonsense. Have a doctor appt. tomorrow morning but I'm not holding my breath that anything will come of it. I should try to be more optimistic but I'm crabby and don't feel like putting on a happy face.

I found some more exercises to try out and have turned my bedroom into a mini gym.  These exercises suggest you sit on the floor but I'm never sure if I can get up again, so I opted for my bed instead. You have to lay down for a period of time with your knees on this box.  It's supposed to help.
Sue and Paul came by for dinner this afternoon. I fixed barbequed ribs (in the oven), a cold rice salad with shrimp, a waldorf salad (using top raman cooked noodles) and cherry cheesecake tarts.  I was so thankful that Sue did a few chores for me.  Getting even little things done with a bad shoulder is next to impossible.

She hammered part of my back fence so the gate opens and closes better; they moved my patio table and chairs to the deck, moved some pots to the deck, sprayed bees nests, and weeded the front.  I was thrilled.  Gave her my bamboo wind chimes because their noise kept me awake last night. Normally, I like the sound but when my body is hurting, nothing pleases me.  Ha!

My before and after pictures in the front.....

After they left, I took some leftover salad to Wayne and Jenni's house. They were in the backyard and she showed me some of the work she's been doing.  Has to do it very slowly and in 20 minute bouts or less but it's coming right along.
Hunter built this little fire pit last year but they still have to line it with gravel.
Her little flower boxes are coming right along too.
These trees surround their house (which makes for crummy cell service)

I had made this small puff quilt a few days back but couldn't figure out what to do with it. Sue suggested a back for my patio chairs so tomorrow I'm making a pocket for the back so I can slip it over.  Will make the chair much comfortable.
One of my  Mother's Day gifts from Mary was two packages of postage stamps.  I always need stamps and these were especially cool. Looked like 45 record sleeves on one side.

As I was leaving Jenni's house today, I felt something sting my arm and lo and behold, I got my very first bee sting!  It hurt and I was yelling:  GET IT OFF OF ME!  Jenni grabbed a nearby spray bottle of vinegar and went to town on my arm.  I left smelling to high heaven!

And that's about it for today.  Doctor appt is at 8 a.m. tomorrow so I've gotta' get up bright and early.
Tuesday is casino day. Birthday celebrations for Mary Norton and Ruth Kvinsland.  Today is Ruthie's BD.  Here's a picture I posted on Facebook.
