And it's Friday

One thing about not having much activity in your life (and no job to go to) is that I sometimes have to look at the date on my computer so I can see what day of the week it is on my calendar.  That's just sad.  Ha Ha  But I can live with it.

It was just another Friday for me.  I did manage to get my kitchen floor mopped and that was way overdue.  Still wondering about these black marks on a part of my floor -- can't figure out if it's the tile design or a long scuff mark of some kind.  It's in an area of the kitchen where I don't think I would have pulled a chair across the floor but it is a mystery.  I'm going to have one of the twins (next time they're over) get down on their hands and knees to see if a little Ajax and scouring pad will remove it.  If it won't, then I'll know it must be the design.  Yeah, I know. I obviously have too much time on my hands.

I painted half a dozen rocks today and I guess I'm done with that hobby for a little while.  I made up 5 sticks and stones pictures too.  Will let them dry overnight and put them in frames.  Like the rocks, I've got to make gifts of them to people.  Altogether I think I made about 10 of them.  I'm done with that hobby too.  Going to try water color painting tomorrow.

Wish I could shake this headache.  It just comes and goes the last few days. Maybe the last week or two even.  Not a severe migraine or nasty sinus headache, thank goodness; just a nuisance headache that flares up to irritate me.

Fleetwood Mac is playing on my Pandora music channel right now. I sure like their sound.  I picked Maddie up at summer school a few minutes ago and she was surprised I had Beyonce playing on my CD player.  After she finished her song, Chuck Berry came on so I serenaded her with the words to 'Reelin' and Rockin'.   She wasn't all that impressed I don't think.

As I was dropping her off at home, she told me their car had been rifled through last night.  A reminder for Jenni to always lock up. They do live on a deadend street and there's a lot of homeless guys walking out in that area as the Serenity House for Homeless in down the road about a mile.

Kind of hope the rains quit for a while as my dandelion lawn is skyhigh with yellow flowers.  Nothing planned for the weekend.  Mary called me while at the airport this morning and said Joe and his girl friend were on the same flight to Vegas. This month marks four years since I've seen my son.
Still hurts, of course, but eventually you have to accept that your adult children are making their own choices in life.  Sadly, Joe was always the kid who couldn't seem to be friends with his mom and his dad at the same time after they divorced.  He's a whole lot like his dad in many respects so you go with the flow and move on.  Enough said on that subject.

I had Maddie help me hang a drape in my bedroom yesterday. I bought a black-out curtain. I didn't even know they made them. I've never liked waking up to a bright bedroom and as I've aged, the dislike has become even more pronounced.  I had large pieces of cardboard in my window but when I saw the black curtains at Walmart, I thought I'd pick me up one.

Finished watching Last Tango in Halifax last night so now I have to find a new show to get hooked on.  Think I'll cook a small pork roast in the crockpot tomorrow.  And I'm playing around with the idea of making a mini blueberry pie tonight.  I've never made a blueberry pie before but I assume it's just like making a rhubarb pie.  I'm going to use those small tin foil pie things that chicken pot pies come in.  Maybe I'll make a mini apple one while I'm at it.

Been having to turn the news off almost immediately each morning.  Between the fat head Trump and all the other negative news around the world, it's just too depressing.  Oh dear, I didn't get a nap today and now I'm dragging.  Better get up and get moving.  Got some cute pictures in an email today so I'll share them from time to time. Here's the first one....
