It's 5 pm and I just got up from a quick little nap in my recliner. I haven't found an ideal nap time for myself yet. Some days I get by with no nap; other times I'm dragging bigtime by 4 pm; and then there are those days when I want a nap right after lunch. Some times I wake up refreshed, but more often than not, I wake up feeling drugged and sluggish.
I spent most of today painting rocks. Had some old ones that were outside and needed touch up real bad and since I had the paints out, I decided to do a few others before I put everything away and moved on to a new hobby. Here's a few...
I wanted to take a stab at water painting too but I'm going to have to watch some more Youtube videos to practice up as my first attempt was really pathetic. Perhaps I'll try something easier like a flower.
Course I did this one on tracing paper instead of actual water color paper so maybe my next picture will turn out a little better. I also finished up some more sticks and stones pictures. They're hard to store but I'll see if I can't find a spot to set them aside for when I need a gift for someone.
I may try some new pictures using buttons as they're fairly easy to work with. I like buttons.
Sue came by yesterday and planted a bunch of flower bulbs for me in pots on the back deck. She doesn't have any room to garden so she likes to use my space. Fine with me. She's always had a gift for working with flowers and plants. Hunter came by this morning and cut my foot high dandelions.
Looks a lot better. I had him unhook my VCR from the living room tv and reattach it to the bedroom set. I tried and tried yesterday to figure out how to play my VHS tapes on my Smart TV but I couldn't get any of the remotes to work. At least on the older set, I can understand the settings. Course that means I'll have to sit in bed if I want to watch any of my old movies. Hunter felt I should toss out my VCR and VHS and just go with DVDs but some of my favorite movies are on VHS...Godfather, Lonesome Dove, Officer and a Gentleman, Beaches, Midnight Cowboy, CoalMiners Daughter, and some great music shows I taped from TV. No way am I getting rid of those!
Mary's been sending me photos of their adventures in Vegas this week. Makes me look forward to email and Facebook pots. Here's one of an Elvis on the sidewalk (kind of a homely Elvis, if you ask me) but all Jake cared about was the scooter he was driving. Ha!
One of Mary's friends from Atlanta is staying with them so Jake is thrilled to have another little boy to play with. Mary says he just follows him around like a puppy.
I bought a dozen notecards at a yard sale last week for 50 cents. Decided to put some of my own pictures on the front and they turned out pretty good.
Dang! It's starting to warm up in here. And making me sneeze too! I don't know if it's allergies or a bug or what but I was feeling kind of sick most of the week. Nausea, headaches, diarrhea, fatigue. Better today, thank goodness. Think I'm going to hook up a couple of fans. Weatherman says we can expect the 80's in the next few days and I don't do hot weather well. Makes me crabby.
Was going to heat up a bowl of soup for supper and have a salad but decided I'd put a little effort into dinner tonight and I threw a small pork roast in the oven. Going to make mashed potatoes too. Haven't had that in a long time. Never feel like cooking anymore and any excuse I can use to open up Marie Callendar is fine with me.
Tomorrow I'm going to work on genealogy files and Tuesday, Jenni is riding with me to the Poulsbo back doctor. We'll leave at 8:30, stop at a quilt store in their downtown area, and then head home so we can make sure we're back in town to pick up Maddie at summer school. She's taking sports medicine. Hunter is taking another auto shop class. His truck is up there now and he's going to start painting the hood tomorrow. Purple. He wants to find a part time job once school starts up so he can save money to get his truck fixed up the way he wants it.
I have no idea what to expect at my doctor appt on Tuesday. I do know my symptoms have gotten worse these past few months. Trying to get anything done while on my feet has become a challenge. I can't tell if it's sciatica, a pinched nerve, hips that need replacing, arthritis, or just plain ole obesity. I can't believe the extra weight I'm carrying could disable me to the point it's gotten to. But then, I suppose all fat people feel that way. ha ha
Guess I'll look over Netflix and Amazon Prime now and see what I can find to entertain myself the next few evenings. I find myself getting irritated at just about everything sooner or later. I'm blaming that on Trump. Ha!
Here's two more unusual pictures received in an email from Les Walden.......
