I must have had some unsettling dreams last night as I woke up with an uneasy feeling. Not especially worrying as I can usually tell when my dreams have been busy with arguments or challenges. Glad they don't linger longer than they do. I sometimes tell myself I really need to make a practice out of writing dreams down immediately so I can analyze what they mean. But at this stage of my life, I pretty much know all my hangups, fears, insecurities, and weird ways of thinking. I'm just movin' on.
I fixed breakfast, browsed a bit online, and decided spur of the moment to hop outside to do some weeding in the front. Okay. I didn't exactly "hop." More like a waddle down the wheelchair ramp. ha ha I put in maybe 15 minutes but my back and hips were not enthused so after filling half a bucket, I crawled back into the house and sat down at the computer -- where I belong!
Maddie might come over to do a little weeding for me today and Susan plans on coming tomorrow to plant bulbs. (and weed if I can trick her into it) Googled again how to kill weeds and I decided to put white vinegar, baking soda, and salt on my shopping list for the next time I drive across town to Walmart.
The house is fairly clean -- at least clean enough to suit me -- so I plan on doing hobbies the next few days. Genealogy, rock painting, water painting, and eventually, back to the sewing room. No shortage of things to keep me occupied. Finished watching season 2 of Bosch last night. Pretty good series but no where close to beating Red Donovan. Now I have to find something new. And I will. Lots of stuff to choose from on Netflix and Amazon Prime.
I've also discovered a channel called Decades. Superman (from my childhood days) shows up on there as does Dick Cavett with great interviews of old. Most of the people are dead now, which makes them even more interesting. At least to me. Robert Mitchum was on a couple days ago. I always loved him. Ever since Thunder Road.
Jaws was showing on the AMC channel so I had to stop and watch as I surfed on through the channels over and over again. Jaws is one of those movies I could watch repeatedly. Same with Grease, American Graffiti, Midnight Cowboy, Lonesome Dove, Godfather, and Stage Coach.
Heard a lot of racket down the alley yesterday and went out on my deck to investigate. A large cat
like this one...
was moving the large boulders on two corners of the vacant lot to the side of the lot. Maybe I'll go out there and take a picture. I figure they're getting ready to remove them. Be right back.
Back again. Once I have my camera in hand, I just stand around and click, click, click.
The rocks will probably be moved soon. Imagine building will start afterwards.
Always like to get a before picture of how a vacant lot looks before a house goes up.
My alley. Think I'm gonna start walking the length of it with my two walking sticks and Ipod. See all the junk cars the lazy neighbor has parked? Not supposed to do that but he seems to get away with it.
My first crocosmia bloomed this morning. Hummingbirds love them.
And these two lilies are looking good too. At least I think they're lilies. Sue planted them so I'll ask her when she comes by tomorrow.
Well, time to get busy. My genealogy notes are way overdue for being put in order. And I know I'll most likely get sidetracked when I go searching for some date or another. Just the kind of activity that I like.
