Even if I have absolutely nothing to yak about, I think I'll try to stay on top of blogging a few words a day. At least more frequently than I have been lately. The sun is shining and I guess that downfall of rain we had a couple days ago woke up some of my plants because I see I'm close to getting those pretty red flowers that I like so much. And that the deer like. I'm sure they'll eat the ones out front once they appear but I've got more in the back in pots on the deck. I never can remember their name so I'll go to google images and find them. Be right back. Here they are - crocosmia
I did go outside to weed this morning. I actually enjoy gardening and if my back would cooperate, I'd spend hours playing around out there trying to make the area pretty. My intention was to put in 10 or 15 minutes but as usual, I thought "just a while longer" and then I realized I'd overdone it. Started to get the shakes and lifting my feet made me unsteady. Totally irritated me too! I dumped the large pail of weeds I'd pulled in the vacant lot across the street and waddled my way into the house. Sigh....
I did make some headway but not as much as I would have liked.
Moved that Tonka planter truck over to a tree stump that I'm always afraid I'm going to trip on as it blends in with the dirt. Tomorrow Maddie is gonna come over and do the other small area in front of this one. Think I'll have her help me with the area around the back steps too. It's easy enough to clean up but these days, my back doesn't seem to appreciate anything I ask it to do. Sue's coming over on Saturday to plant some dahlia bulbs she bought for me. Maybe I'll work on the pots on the deck then. At least I can play with those as I can sit down on my shower stool.
I don't know why I'm even bothering to type this chatter. It's beginning to bore even me. ha ha
I don't really have much to talk about since my round-up of Port Townsend activities over the weekend. Gonna work on genealogy notes for the next few days. A woman in a courthouse in Illinois has been looking stuff up for me and writing me via email but so far, she hasn't found a thing on Charlie Blankenship. I'll continue to search.
Below are various pictures I got in an email earlier this week.
And here's a picture of Standard Insurance where I worked in Portland, OR n 1962-63. My first job.
And here's how it looks today. (in a different downtown spot)
I'm just about done with the J.A. Jance book I've been reading 'Hand of Evil' and I'm anxious to start three books my brother and sister-in-law gave me. They said they were all quite good -- Second Glance by Jodi Picoult, Shackleton's Stowaway by Victoria McKernan, and The Private Papers of Eastern Jewel by Maureen Lindley.
Amazon Prime and some Netflix have been taking up my tv time. Am watching Catastrophe, Lark Rise to Candleford, and Bosch.
Hmmmm...it just cooled down as I've been sitting here. Guess I'll get up and wash dishes and start moving around before I sit again. Ha Ha
