Friday morning

Fell into bed at 10 pm last night tired to the bone.  Got up a half hour later to take a couple iboprofen and thankfully, I slept better all night.  Got up at 5:30 (which means I'll be taking a recliner nap later) and felt halfway okay.  For an hour or so anyway, and then I was reminded that IBS is one of the "things" that I get to deal with now and again.  I'll be traveling back and forth to the bathroom most likely until the afternoon or early evening.  Makes for a delightful way to end the week.  On the brighter side, however, I haven't felt good all week and this cleaning out episode should put me back on track.  'Ya gotta look for the silver linings.  ha ha

Went out to lunch with classmate John O'Brien yesterday. He lives in Tacoma but comes to Sequim to visit his sister, Mary, from time to time.
Mary sent me a couple pictures of Jake washing his Tonka trucks that Jenni passed on down to him since Hunter has moved on to bigger vehicles.

I'm so proud of granddaughter Maddie. She's working at the same restaurant where her mom used to be a waitress.  She's mainly bussing tables now but will eventually move up.  A couple days ago this homeless guy came in and asked her if she would heat up his tv dinner for him.  Not only did she heat it, but she got him silverware to sit down and eat it with.  Apparently, the management doesn't encourage this but no one was around so Maddie just figured it was the thing to do.  Once they started making moves to remove him, Maddie saw him to the door and gave him her tips.  What a kid!

He just stared at her and then started to cry.  Shook her hand and almost made her cry. Some of her co-workers got after her for that but she's making up her own mind and she felt he needed that money more than she did.

Later, she noticed this regular customer sitting alone. Sometimes he'd come in with his wife who has Alzheimers but she wasn't there this time and he started to cry while talking about her. That made Maddie get tears in her eyes too -- especially since she's been having to watch the decline of her grandfather who is in an Alzheimer's place in Sequim.  It's a nice place, though. I worked there for a while in the dining room.  Anyhow, Maddie is learning the ways of the world.

Nothing much planned for the weekend outside of the usual.
