And the last page has this photo...
These are family member in 1909 at the gravesite of James Holt, who drowned at age 19 in Doty, WA. This is my grandmother's side of the family.
I converted the document to pdf and will run it down to Pacific Office Equipment on Monday to have a couple copies run off. They can zip it through their copier really fast when it's in pdf. I plan to email it off to any relative who shows an interest. Ought to be a couple maybe.
Hunter just came by and hung my curtain rod in the sewing room. Tomorrow will be my day to head on back there and start getting things cleaned up and organized. I thought about doing it today but I got started on researching my mother's biological family roots and next thing I knew, it was afternoon. Now I feel like I need a nap.
I did find a few new things since I last worked on that part of my family tree. For example, the grandfather of my mother's biological dad was a Baptist pastor and part of his obit read:
He preached two sermons
Sunday, June 29, and the following morning started with his horse and wagon for
Chehalis, but while crossing the railroad at Grand Mound was struck by the
north-bound passenger train and seriously injured internally. He lingered until
9 a.m. July 3, when he died. During this time his suffering was intense, but he
bore it all, never murmuring or complaining until death brought relief. Through
it all he remained conscious, rallying at the last to deliver his last message
for his Master to his family, urging them to meet him in Glory where he would
shortly be. His last words were: "The Lord hath prepared the way, Christ
has suffered it."
Obits were so much better in the old days. ha ha
Catie is manning her craft booth at the Renton festival this weekend. Sadly, though, her heart isn't in it as he cat is dying and she needs to put it down. She sent me a photo of her booth.
You can see her website on Facebook. Search Weinridge Jewelry & Accessories.
Maddie is having friends over for a birthday party today so Hunter is madly looking for a place to go. Said he doesn't want to be there but I think he's making a big mistake. Perfect place to meet girls! he posted a new picture of his truck on his FB page. It's running but he's still looking for parts he needs.
Finished watching HBOs Olive Kitteridge last night. Starred Frances McDormand. One of the best shows I've ever seen! I think it had four episodes. I watched The Intern after that with Robert Deniro. It was okay but not up to his usual quality of movie. A fluff piece I guess.
And that's about all for now. Off to take a nap.
